Selene's Lance

I’m willing to admit that I was probably “using it wrong”. I typically use the Spartan Laser from a good distance away from my targets so I can survive while it is charging up. The recoil on this though means I can’t keep the beam on the target. I was also not used to the quick charge up. So I couldn’t even kill Spartans with this thing because after it goes off my aim drifts way up off of the target.

I just re-read the flavor text on the card, which says the targeting laser does damage. Sort of makes me wish I hadn’t sold all my copies in frustration. Would that basically make an infinite ammo distance laser? Anyone have experience with this?

Also if anyone has tips on how to use that sucker effectively, I would be glad to hear it as I am sure I’ll come across another at some point.

The description says that it has extra recoil for “War Games Balancing.” In other words, it’s still better than Twin Jewels of Maethrillian.

Safer to use “end game” laser since that recoil is about as accurate as sniping with an SMG.

Yes. I got Selene’s Lance from a random weapon req once. It is actually really good at mid-long distance. The target laser is infinite, so if you get the drop on someone, you could kill them…if you can keep the laser on them. It actually becomes a very versatile weapon. You can use the target laser to take down Spartans and even small vehicles, and save actually firing the laser for bigger, more urgent kills.

I used one once and the recoil is insane. Quite why a laser weapon would have recoil is beyond me, but hey ho.

Yes but the targeting laser doesnt do a lot of damage.

I’ll usually use it just to get Spartan kills by just tapping the trigger on someone till it kills them granted it takes a bit to kill them but hey it works and you’re not wasting energy/ ammo

The recoil is added by the War Games simulation for balancing purposes. Ouside of the simulation, it’s the same as the other lasers.

But we never use it outside of the simulation!

This. The addition of heavy recoil to weapons that wouldn’t have it outside seems silly.

Also. If it’s firing a high-powered laser (light) how does it have recoil if that’s no mass being propelled? :stuck_out_tongue:

I just chose to ignore the physics haha I’m not smart enough to worry about that :stuck_out_tongue: hahaha

Like I said, balancing purposes. I wonder if it would have recoil in campaign. It shouldn’t, but I want to know.

I know, but the fact that it has the same recoil outside of the game is pointless.

Can you get that laser in campaign?

This one time, I turned on my high powered flashlight and it blew out of my hands because of the intense recoil. Don’t get me started on the little lasers that you use to make funny youtube cat videos!

Use it for bigger vehicles like wraiths and tanks at first to get a better feel then aim at the high middle and right before it fires start aiming down but not like directly down like a medium speed, once you get that down you can then start sniping banshees, hogs, ghosts and the rest

Maybe the laser has recoil because it also projects tiny particles along the beam to do additional damage. I dont think you can get the laser in campaign but I might be wrong. Also, the Blaze of Glory has a bigger physics issue then the third tier laser. Like how does it reload with 1 shell when it ejects a shell after every shot??

that thing rocks, I don’t get why you sold them

Sadly, no.

“Balancing” is absurd. None of the other high level legendary or mythic weapons have “balancing”. Heartseeker is better in every way from the standard IC, nornfang the sniper rifle etc.
