When i’m at the main menu it asks me to select a valid profile to continue, the only issue is that there are no profiles to select.
How do I fix this?
Same Problem I have. I had it in beta as well, wasn’t able to participate in the beta.
Honestly. This is bs, I’ve tried just about everything to fix it even during beta. Still am trying even at this moment.
I’m starting to just want a refund…
It’s sad to say, that all of my hype an excitement to play this game, has died before even playing it.
So I have just been onto support and they managed to fix this issue for me!
What you need to do is create a desktop shortcut for the game, right click -> Properties and in the “Run” dropdown box select the option Minimized. Apply settings and launch the game!
This worked for me!

Yeah, just search ‘Halo Wars 2’ in your start menu/taskbar. Then drag it to your desktop.
However it did not work for me.
This didn’t work for me. I can’t open the game from the shortcut. The short cut loads the game for 5 seconds, closes it and then it opens the Halo app on the Halo wars 2 page. If I then open Halo wars 2 the glitch remains and is not in minimized mode just full screen.

Ok so the click and drag doesn’t work so the shortcut option isn’t working. I’ve been talking to Microsoft support for a while now and they haven’t even figured it out. Perfect to have bugs and issues right on launch day.

Well this isn’t just launch day. This was an issue since the Beta. I find it ok to have bugs launch day too, hopefully there is a patch before full release. That can lead to some backlash. As if 343i needs more of that.

Are you guys signing in with the Xbox App on your PC? If not, have you tried that? Signing into Windows 10 with your login isn’t necessarily the same as your MSFT account depending on how you’ve setup your system.

I’m signed into the xbox app on PC, still experiencing this problem in Halo Wars 2

Yes. I am also signed into the xbox app using the same profile I use with the actual Xbox One. I’ve been talking to Microsoft support all day and they haven’t figured it out. They even forwarded me to Creative Assembly except that the link they sent me to was for a company that makes screws, nuts and bolts. I thought it was a joke. For now I’ve given up. Please fix this soon.
A similar issue happens if you select ‘Switch User’ on the Halo App and try to sign back in again, a grey square pops up and disappears leaving you not logged in. The difference is that when I exit the Halo App and open it again, I am signed in.
EDIT: And also apparently this occurs in Solitaire. Maybe it’s a Windows problem?
EDIT 2: Any app that links in with my Xbox account seems to be having this problem. Forza Hub, Solitaire, Halo App and Minecraft Win 10 Edition (as early as 2015) are all experiencing the problem. Some Wizards detected it was the store cache but it doesn’t appear to be the problem after 2 resets. Apparently forza horizon 3 too.

I tryed the minimized option. still gives me the little pop up for half a second, then the loop begins. im really annoyed that the fix didnt work, i still cant play the damn game i spend £70 on.
with the lack of support I get from the various things I tried, i’ll probably try and get a refund. how do I go about this?
