People who have played Halo since the first game. Playing through the campaigns multiple times and putting hundreds of hours into the multiplayer of them all.
The GDC made it pretty clear that 343’s main focus is making the game so easy that the average “casual gamer” will buy it. And yes I know “hurr durr they r business” but that doesn’t mean they have to dumb the multiplayer down so more people will give them money.

It saddens me on how Reach was Easy then H4 becomes even easier.
I couldn’t Snipe/No-Scope if my life depended on it in H3 but Reach and H4 takes no effort at all.
Goes to show Games are becoming more “Mainstream” so the “New Age” gamers are getting a game so simplified that a young child could do decent.
Halo isn’t the only one suffering. Some of my Favorite MMOs have even been dumbed down so much that I hate it.

The worrying part is it’s true.
It’s not wrong to make the game “accessible”, but 343 did not do a good job on that. There’s so much imbalance, and skill has not been implemented. This has hurt the Halo Multi-player badly… 343 showed up very late on dealing with this issue, and they are paying the price. Just look at the population now. Also, look at the mistakes they have made when they give their “solutions” demanded by the community. Smh. I hope 343 aren’t a bunch of morons because it seems like they are.

So you have been around halo 4 day one, right?

I’m glad you enjoy the game but guess what, you are in the minority. Does that mean your opinion doesn’t matter? No.
It does however mean that the majority aren’t happy, hence why the population is dwindling.

The waypoint heroes are getting worse than the contant bashers. Sometimes I think it’s blatantly obvious that they don’t even like the game, they just want gratification.

What that guy said. Y’all might moan about how it’s “easier”, but take a moment to think of us average players; those of us who are past our prime and will never stand a chance against the youngsters. The matchmaking is broken, people of hugely different skill levels are being pitched with/against each other. That is not how a game should work.

The issue isn’t that it’s not Halo 2 but that it’s not good.

Actually I’m willing to bet the reason people stopping coming on here, is because they just gave up on Halo 4. Which you can see in it’s population. Despite what some people think, not everyone who complains about a game is being a hypocrite and playing it at the same time. I stopped coming on here and playing Halo 4 a month after it came out because I got sick of it. I started coming back when things like Team Throwdown, the TU etc. came out to give it another chance, but it still isn’t enough to keep me playing.
It doesn’t matter what you say or assume, that conference proves they are starting to ignore people who have been around supporting Halo and want to focus on where the money is AKA the average person who occasionally wants to play a game.
Do you really think that all the other Halo games catered to one group of people? Every single Halo game (even Reach to an extent) was fun for both the average player and for people who put tons of time into the game and played on a more serious level. Halo 4 is not.
It doesn’t matter who’s the majority on here, who’s the majority on Halo 4 at the moment or whatever. The fact is that 343 wanted to make an already accessible series even more accessible.
So because they made it easier for new players for halo 4 automatically means the next games will be the same?
Yes more people probably want it back to halo 2 or 3 (myself included) and who knows maybe after all the fans complaining halo 5 goes back to the roots u never know

How many popular game series can you think of that don’t get easier to play with each installment? The developers (or the producers wanting them to sometimes) realize making the game easier to play attracts more people, they know it will alienate older fans but they bank on the new players covering the ones that leave and then some. I never said it had to be like the old games, just that it doesn’t need to be dumbed-down.
I thought for sure Halo 4 would be better than Reach. The first thing 343 did to Reach when they got control over it was release a TU that made the game 100% better, so it makes sense to think Halo 4 would turn out similar but that wasn’t the case at all.
The community don’t want a place for the community anymore.

what I thought, but not that he never got good enough to care how it changed probably that he didn’t care enough from the start on how it changed now.
I don’t necessarily agree with your view op, but I do feel like many aspects of Halo has been completely disregarded and/or superseded by inferior aspects.
Definitely not the Halo I used to know and love.
