Seems like the internal turmoil at 343I was true

Not true. Are you suggesting that it’s not possible to make a game in an engine? Why would devs even use it if they are pigeon holed into a certain gameplay style?

Using an engine let’s devs expedite their vision and gameplay instead of writing boilerplate code that does the following:

  • Load textures
  • Play animation
  • Execute DX/GL pipeline
  • Play sounds, let players hear sounds if they are in range
  • Etc.

There should be zero reason that Halo’s gameplay could not be reproduced in any engine.

From what I hear, Unreal is rather difficult to develop in and if 343 did abandon it, it was due to their incompetence more than anything.

The weapons of infinite belong in the :wastebasket: the br grappleshot and sword are staples in the weapon game right now. That’s like the meta combo atm.
But personally I didnt mind the dmr in reach it seemed well rounded and it didnt feel horrible the bloom was a bit much being the first game to have reticle bloom in the halo series.
But the commando if you try to compare that to the dmr I will push you in lava do not compare garbage to something that is at least useable even against the 4 tap br.
Infinite needs to just grab the weapons box and unload it into the game. Theres no reason we shouldn’t have access to every gun at this point in a lore sense this game has failed. And dont even get me started on the gaps with this current game

I believe the wheels are in motion at 343 to fix the weapon issues.

Expecting a game to have simple features that have been in the game since H3 is not asking for much

Totally agree. When MCC released the way it did I could not believe that we weren’t hearing of sackings then. And this is the result. Another epic fail.

Just buy Ubisoft. They’re buying everyone else, why stop at Activision ?

To be fair, did really anybody expect something different if the same persons responsible for H4, H5 and MCC (launch) are in charge? People like Kiki Wolfkillm Frank O’Connor and Bonnie Ross have PROVEN beyond any doubt that they have absolutely no leadership and management qualities. I’m completely shocked that MS is still counting on these people… with such a record of failure, broken promises and missleading infos.

Releasing the H5 ad as we know it and then deliver the game with THIS story is just one of many… “WTF, dude?!”

And it was the exact same thing with infinite. A solid core gameplay did at least come out of it…

At this point, a completely cut and fresh start has to be made.

who else can you give 6 years and 500m dollars to and still defend at this level, even a bit?
If I gave you 500m, you’re telling me you couldn’t find or hire someone to find game devs to make a videogame in 6 years?
After reading the article in OPs post, how can you ignore the signs of a shaky leader ship and rag tag dev team, frankensteined engine, and egregious shop?
It’s just. I can’t see any case for excuses for 343 that end with us being okay with them charging the amounts they are in the store or being okay with the content they have in the game.
6 years to make the foundation of a ‘10 year game’.
500m.
Perspective my guy.

“Spartans don’t even look like Spartans anymore” wtf are you talking about these are the most realistic Spartans I’ve ever seen in Halo, actually believable that these are real military super soldiers in real cutting-edge armor.
Halo 5 Spartans looked like robot football players from space.
I’ve noticed that 90% of the people complaining about infinite came from Halo 5, while the people who quit at reach are just happy to see an actual Halo game again with actuall Spartans in an actual sandbox.

People make entire maps by themselves with working physics/animations in the unreal engine. I doubt its that difficult to work with, especially given its one of the most used game engines in the gaming industry.
