I see complaining about vehicles supposedly not being strong enough? Why? So you can have easy mode and dominate the game just because you were the first one to the vehicle?
People complaining about sniper glare, lol. I guess having a hit scan/laser weapon that takes, at most, two quick shots to kill from ranges where people can’t fight back just isn’t good enough. Y’all want to be undetectable too?
People whining about being killed by controller users, smh. Pretty much every other game gives mouse players very large advantage. Get better or use a controller.
Someone said there should be more power weapons on the map. Really? Doesn’t the game hand out enough free kills with that radar?
Also, I don’t understand why people come here to doom post. If you uninstalled the game or quit on it, just move on. HeII, I dropped modern warfare 19 because maps had a million camping spots and there was no way to quiet the loud foot steps for more than a few seconds. I didn’t just hang around their boards crying all the time. I moved on to games I enjoyed.
I feel like people are not discussing Vehicles properly at all.
Vehicles aren’t “Too strong” or “Too weak”, but Vehicles in Infinite have very bad sandbox balance. The fact remains that our Anti Vehicle weapons, weapons that KILL Vehicles are far and few between. The Skewer 6 times out of 10 never kills a small sized vehicle in 1 shot. Never.
On the other hand, we have too many Vehicle disruption methods littered all over BTB maps, and this causes Vehicles to exchange hands alot rather than be killed and removed from the map. That’s why you have cases where there are 3 Wasps flying around in BTB due to the genius idea to have random Vehicle drops instead of static spawn.
I’ve seen more people complain about Marksman rifle glint, because those definitely don’t need a glint to give away the position of the shooter. The Commando, an already weak weapon in the sandbox, suffers from also having the glint. Only 1 shot weapons should have the glare.
This topic will never go away until 343 finds a way to balance MKB and Controller inputs, and tbh, it’s really difficult. Halo being a game with long TTK means tracking players with your input is key, that’s why Controllers have a distinct advantage in that area. This is undeniable. I guess they could try bringing back Mouse Magnetism for MKB which was tested in Flight and see if it helps MKB users?
But honestly the ultimate reason why alot of MKB players perform poorly is because they aren’t even Halo-ing right. It’s a known fact that in a game like Halo, tracking is key. So why are you trying to track your target purely with your mouse? Halo has and always will be played with your movement inputs contributing the most to tracking, with the reticule adjustments being second when it comes to tweaking your aim.
Playing Halo wrongly is a very real phenomena.
I’m already pissed that there are random power weapon drops. Did 343 not learn from Halo 4 that people don’t like dropped weapons which disrupt the current map’s sandbox? It’s like a Mice experiment but you randomly drop a Snake into the cage.
Cos people mad after a bad experience and need to vent. I choose to just ignore the posts or meme on it tbh. Sometimes they say stuff I want to say so I just upvote and be on my merry way.
Please don’t take this the wrong way, or as hostile in any way, but I always find posts like this funny, because you have come to the forum, and a portion of your post is basically a doom post about people posting, as you call it, doom posts. You have taken the time to complain about people complaining which apparently you don’t do (complain), you just move on. Is it okay then if people praise the game,? Whether positive, negative, or constructive, all are still legitimate positions and opinions? The thing with free speech and opinions is it’s not always what you want to hear until it is.
Skill goes both ways. There’s skill in using a gun, but there’s also skill in not getting killed by said gun. Pre-Halo 5, if you wanted to find an enemy sniper, you had to use your eyes and your ears. Listen for the sound or follow the lingering smoke trail. Now that sniper glint is so bright, you can spot a sniper without even looking at them. (Seriously, load up a custom game and have an enemy scope at you, you can see the glint in the peripherals).
There’s a lot of ways to deal with snipers, but attaching a search light to the bottom of their barrel, discouraging players from WANTING to zoom in, isn’t the way.
The ranged weapon glare I think is a bit overboard. Maybe a flicker, like a real rifle would give off. But a beacon for all to see is a bit over the top. I can see it as being an “anti-camping” method, but it’s too much as of now. A slight tweak is all thats needed.
I’d say for the vehicle’s people just want them to play like Halo 2-5. In infinite they take little to no damage. Keep them at usual Halo levels and call it good.
Something needs to be done. I don’t know the numbers, but for the most part it seems most of the players are veteran halo players. I don’t think there is many new players.
I think they are doing better with the sound and art design to attract players. I do feel with just a few setting changes they would stop alienating players. Let players, especially new players, sneak or hide an scope out the map. Of course this doesn’t work on the small maps like Streets or Recharge. It would be better in maps like Behemoth or larger.
If there were more mid-size maps like Highground or Zanzibar player could play at a more chill pace an have room to see enemies on the field rather than the last second on the small maps. Mid-size maps also would give people better opportunities to get used the power weapons and vehicles. Making them asymmetrical with offensive and defensive positions.
I’d like to see them change things like lens flare, player collision, and friendly fire along with other things. I don’t see that happening with 343’s current management.
Sniper glint wasn’t in the Halo games that had a high skillgap, it’s just a mechanic to cap good players from playing freaky, by making it less intuitive to aim for the head. It only has 8 shots and spawns infrequently, if you can’t win it off the spawn then you need to get good.
Radar is a noob-friendly mechanic, perfectly fine for social, but you can’t complain about skillgap in a playlist with radar on. CE had the highest skillgap and had ample weapons on quick respawn times. The game should be precision starts but having a healthy amount of power weapons stops the game from being like Halo 3 again where it’s just the sniper only and frequent standoffs.
I loved Reach BTB where the vehicles were quick, good handling and fragile. Infinite vehicles have horrible handling and other problems with health, availability and strength that doesn’t make them all that fun.
I’ve convinced myself that a lower skillgap is better because there is less need for strict sbmm…
Just look at old cod games like mw2, there are so many ways to get cheesy kills that everyone is able to get at least some kills in every match.
If the skillgap was higher, bad players would start complaining
And mw2 is one of the most successful games ever, the reasoning low skillgap=bad game doesn’t make sense
Vehicles are a core part of Halo and has been that way since Halo CE. The vehicles have progressively gotten weaker, so buffing the durability and damage output is a good thing. If you don’t like vehicles, don’t play BTB. Instead, go to the Ranked playlist.
A massive misunderstanding of how the Sniper has worked in previous Halo titles.
When you fire the Sniper, the trail form the bullet gives your position away. You are not undetectable.
I somewhat agree, however it would be better if 343i simply made it so you could select input based matchmaking like in MCC.
Unsure what you’re on about seeing as the enemies have radar too. Also unsure how more power weapons on the map relate to radar.
People doom post because 343i don’t listen. They say they’re always learning, then give us Stalker rifles and Manglers in Team Snipers or increase store prices.
People are upset that Halo Infinite failed and that they’ll be stuck with this game for the next 8 to 10 years. There is the belief that Halo is dead and 343i killed it.
Anyways, more to your points. Play Ranked. You don’t like radar, you don’t like vehicles, you don’t like power weapons, so play Ranked.
So that the game has enjoyable vehicle combat as well as player combat.
Could you imagine Titanfall 2 where Titan Combat is ineffective and useless because Pilot Combat is focused on too heavily? Where a single Pilot can easily take out a Titan with just a normal firearm and not specialized weaponry or tactics?
Snipers, by definition, are supposed to be more stealthy.
When a map offers wide-angles and range; it makes sense that someone wants the SR in order to take advantage of that range and try to accurately pick-off targets at long distance. Especially if they are dumb enough to attempt traversing the landscape out in the open where there is little cover.
Lol.
The radar that is the shortest range than any other previous radar in the franchise?
The request for more power weapons is two-fold reasons
We want players to not focus only on moving to one or two spots of the map to gain dominion of an power dynamic item.
We want for there to be counter-options to the power weapon. Someone grabs the Sword/Grav Hammer? You can gain the advantage by grabbing a tool that counters it in Close Range or prevents it from being a threat at long range.
The issue is that we feel even further betrayed.
Halo 4 was when 343 shoved the actual audience away with terrible gameplay.
Halo 5 did it with story that insulted the players level of intelligence.
Halo Infinite was promised to be a return to form. But that was something that was only half-truths spoken by a silver tongue.
