So here’s the situation:
I crashed out last night and went to bed thinking nothing of it. logged back on today to see that “user is banned” message. No timer, no way to see or appeal my ban or why I got it. My guess after reading other reddit and forum posts is that crashing out of a game technically counts as leaving, and sometimes results in a ban.
The thing is, most other people report this happening after 2 or 3 crashes, or even intentional leaving, and even then its for about 5 to 15 minutes. for me, it was one crash, and bam, permabanned. been waiting for almost an hour now and I’m still banned. I’m worried this will last the entire flight, and the ban appeal page only supports MCC and halo 5. Am I just screwed and have to pray to the server gods in hopes of just randomly getting unbanned at an arbitrary point? Is there a way to fix this?
I should also note something strange; when i click on that little plus icon in the bottom right fireteam section, it shows me as online, playing a custom game of duckhunt. I’m definitely not doing that, so did i just get hacked or something?

but its def no the duck hunt custom game thing (thats its own bug)
i opened a ticket but thats the best you can do
Maybe it’s because this flight is ending soon. I doubt they’ll permaban anyone for the game itself for leaving one match. Sorry this happened to you.

just tried to log on to this week’s preview. still banned. Burns me because ive been a halo fan since the beginning.

Same thing sort of thing happened to me. Played a game but realised I was going to need to quit to go to work. Come home after my shift and see “Player is banned”. It had already been like 9 hours so I thought it was a little weird but i figured it’d be fine in the morning. Nope, that was the weekend before the BTB weekend and over a week later I’m still banned. Impossibly frustrating and despite 3 or 4 support tickets no one has gotten back to me. Really sucks when you love the franchise and it’s been like a million years waiting since halo 5.
