The latest canon fodder has brought new universe entries, one of which being for the Spirit, the pronged covenant troop transport from Reach and CE. The description for the entry when selecting it reads:
> The Spirit serves as a dropship and utility craft in Covenant and Swords of Sanghelios armies.
This information is omitted in the full article, but given we’ve never seen the Swords in action with their own, autonomously selected gear, would it be far-fetched to speculate that it might return in Halo 5?
Well that prospect certainly raises my spirits. Please don’t post any mean-spirited comments.
I thought this thread was about the Sprirt of Fire…don’t worry. It’ll come back one day. One day soon…

I really do hope the spirit returns, maybe we could fly it, I know, I know I shouldn’t get my hopes up but it would be cool
Isn’t the spirit obsolete to the Phantom? You can’t get back into the Spirit like you can with the gravity lift in the phantom. And the phantom has more firepower; Main gun and 2 side turrets. Also, it seemed to have stronger armor by its structure.

Nope, the 2 dropships were used side by side throughout the entire war and afterward.

The article says that the Spirit, whilst less tactically versatile than the Phantom, is much, much tankier than the Phantom is. It can get in and out of hot zones that would obliterate a Phantom.

lol ditto
I don’t remember which video it is, but in one Halo 5 gameplay video, a spirit comes down (with some brand new doors).
Please don’t bring back old threads.
