Seeing the flaws of H4 Matchmaking :(

This game is really good so far, but I do see a lot of flaws in matchmaking, and the game overall. But I just want to talk about the matchmaking.

  1. Instant Respawns/Respawn Faster button.
    I don’t know how many times I have killed the guy I made one shot/ been killed by the guy who made me one shot after I killed him/ he killed me, because I instantly spawned with him in my line of sight.
    With King of the Hill, there is waaaaay too much chaos because of sometimes being able to spawn instantly, or spawn after 3 seconds. You kill their whole team and then you look left and there they are tossing nades at you. With Big Team on Ragnarok, the team who controls the hill wins no matter how well you slay them and try to push, because they instantly spawn right next to where they last died. You get the point…

  2. DMR is ridiculous to me, and I use all of the primary’s consistently. It may not have the killtime of the Carbine, but it has way more range and a tiny bit of a faster fire rate than that of the Battle Rifle. I think it’s fire rate and everything is fine, but (and you guys will hate me for saying this) I think it deserves a bit more bloom to make it less easy to spam at mid to long range. Light Rifle Zoomed may take 4 shots to kill but the DMR can knock out shields in pretty much the same amount of times that the LR can.

  3. Launch playlists kinda eh, hoping for better playlists soon.

  4. I don’t like random ordinance drops anymore! (Not personal ordinance, but random weapons dropping everywhere) I want weapons with a set spawn and set time of respawn, like Halo Reach and 3 and stuff.

  5. Why King of the Hill on Ragnarok? Da fudgecake?

  6. Complex is a terrible map.

  7. No X above a dead teammates head, even with Instant Respawn I wish they had included that :frowning:

  3. Probably for faster pace and more changing of the guards
  4. Agree, entirely too many DMR campers on top of central base

The real problem, however, is WHY IS THERE NO GRIFBALL PLAYLIST, AND LACK OF EXPLODING GRIF?

Needs 1-50 and more playlists.

The instant respawn makes King of the Hill game limited. I got beat by a team simply ran to the hill with ARs. Two of them had zero kills (they didn’t join late), but they still had the hill.

Agree with everything except number 2. I somewhat agree with it, but I think it’s the other guns that need tweaking/buffing, not the DMR that needs to be nerfed.

1.) I’ve taken advantage of this soooo many times that now I am forcing myself to wait till my respawn times sets in. It’s too easy to manipulate. The whole point in being able to kill off the team is to, well… kill off the team. It doesn’t work when they spawn faster than you can kill the next one.

2.) DMR is fine, but like you said, it doesn’t leave as much of a trail as the other guns.

3.) Agreed, but think about it. They just started. None of the Halo games had full and extensive playlists at launch. You can expect more as the game progresses.

4.) YES! This is a HUGE issue that is deeper than what you just stated. Bring back normal weapons on maps!! I can handle initial ordanance drops, but I want to be able to expect a shotgun/sniper to spawn at a specific time in a specific place. I also do a lot of long range combat and run out of ammo. With no weapons on a map, I can’t replenish unless I run out to the person I just shot. Most the time the gun disappears before I can get to it. At times I resort to suicide to get more ammo again. Sad, I know.

5.)Especially when players respawn instantly and the hills rotate immediately to one player’s base. No balance with it.

6.)With a sniper and not getting Kicked out of zoom when shot, I am GOD on that map for the very reason you mentioned. And I’m not all that good as a sniper either.

I’ll add a 7th too:

7.) I know BR got popular back in the day, but that doesn’t mean we ALL need to start with an equvalent of it. I’m tired of spawing and getting picked off by 5 people from random locations because they ALL HAVE THEM. Rarely anyone uses the assault rifle equivalents. Why? Because the low range and lack of headshot capability can’t compete. Maybe give a close range option like the shotgun at SR40 or something. Make it desireable to select something else. (although that would make the “Firepower” package OP…)
