Pretty sure we’ve all heard of the weapon swap glitch. But it seems like few have heard of the “secret” skins that swapping can cause. I believe I’ve seen them on Brute Plasma rifles, Carbines, and others.
What is this about? How do you do it and is it a glitch that these “skins” appear?
Its a glitch, yes. You could actually see it happen earlier, when Forge was first released. I remember seeing the Answer’s skin on a SAW before the Answer was released into Forge.
Im not sure of the requirements for it though. I know putting a Nornfang into a magnum gives it the Whispered Truth skin.

I’ve noticed if you put say, a tier three storm rifle into a SAW, you’ll get The Answer skin on the SAW even though you just out it into a regular SAW. I’m talking about the weird skins never seen elsewhere in the game. Just look up “Halo 5 secret skins forge”
Secret weapon skins have been known for some time. The most notable one is the Nornfang + Brute Plasma Rifle. Doing that one gives you a Blue Plasma Rifle, albeit with a burnt outer shell.

I saw a weird one on a Plasma Rifle.
You can get a Orange Grenade launcher using the Heartseeker + Grenade launcher
which I believe was a cut Gl variant

I managed to get some Secret Skins, Beam Rifle caught my eye cause I’ve never seen it
The skins in forge are done by using a weapon pad in which you select weapon you want then change its tier on the option or choice below the first which then you go back to the first option to switch the weapon while keeping the tier the same. But use a weapon that has a mythic tier such as gravity hammer, energy sword, shotgun, sniper rifle, pistol, and SPNKR then do as follows:
1.Use mythic variant as second choice on weapon pad then switch the first choice to the Halo 2 beam rifle to get a skin that is not of any tier. (By the way people don’t know much of this one.)
2.Do the same as the first one but change first choice to storm rifle to get a red skin version. (Brute skin?)
3.The same as 2 but with a carbine that is also red.
4. Now use any third tier variant as second on weapon pad (most preferably SPNKR EX for what could have been third tier greanade launcher) then switch first choice to grenade launcher to get orange grenade launcher variant.
5.Use mythic as shown above but for the Brute plasma rifle for the original blue plasma rifle albiet burnt/shredded outer layer.
That covers I think all of them but let me know if I missed some.
