Personally I feel the seasons are too short. Should be at least 3 months imo.
this isn’t something like league of legends. people were feeling ranked fatigue within the first month. since you can’t get ranked down. a month is the perfect amount for halo i feel. but i wouldn’t be apposed to 3 months. not anything longer.
I think a 3 month season would make more sense for the pace in which I play this game.
Considering it only takes 10 games in a playlist to be ranked, and you get a free req pack for ranking in a playlist every season, a month is not that much of an issue. You see how good you are within those 10 games and can then try better next month. Plus, most people have one or two playlists they really really like, and other then that couldn’t be bothered. If you played an hour a day, for 30 days, and the average game averages 10 minutes, that should be plenty of time to rank up in the playlist of your choice to try and get your desired rank.
I like shorter because the only games that seem to really matter are those 10 placement matches. It becomes very difficult to level up after that I found, at least playing solo. That way if you don’t do so hot in those 10 you have a chance again in a month or two to retry.
Seasons haven’t started yet. We can’t make a definitive decision yet. Wait until we have a few Seasons, then we’ll make a decision on length.
ranking system sucks anyways
1-50 FTW

is this not the same thing? the only difference is you can’t rank down from a DIVISION. which coming from my league of legends background. sounds and feels better. “i worked my way out of gold division into platinum division” vs “oh i am a 16 in ranked slayer” but of course, different strokes for different folks!
I voted that I don’t really care because I will only be playing social when it is released tomorrow

If the League players were ranked fatigue, 80% of the population would be out of Silver, but they’re not. They’re just salty. Three months would be more ideal, ranking up in each playlist is different than playing only one playlist like League. Especially when they introduce Doubles and Snipers into ranked hopefully the end of this month, it’ll be even more ridiculous of a grind. Also these weekend playlists eat up more time as well, that’s if we’re playing them which I am.
OMG what a slog. I can’t get de-ranked so I end up stuck in Divisions that are just too high skill level for me and it sucks trying to play in that. If there remains no de-ranking, then frequent league resets will be necessary.
Get good doesn’t work here, because I simply am not a high level player.
I think the season need to be 3-4 months. I don’t have the time to play Halo 5 super consistently and one month isn’t really enough time to get me anywhere. Maybe 1-2 divisions higher. Increasing to 3-4 months would give people more time.

No. Your placement matches should get you close to your appropriate skill division. 2/3 months time to move around from that placement is ample time attempt to reach higher levels.
League seems way too stressful for what is it. Granted, I’ve never played it.

Except for the fact that you had a bunch of 50’s who were alternate accounts making it harder to move up, despite being good enough to do so. People eventually get rank locked, because each game counts for so little of your performance after a certain number of games, hence the need for seasons.
Maybe by having a short season they think you can be more competitive for the people who enjoy that…
Short seasons are actually better if you are into ranked. The more games you have under your belt, the more wins it will take to up your CSR. Resetting will make it easier for everyone to get the chance to rank up again.
…when majority of my games are against US players on US servers (i’m from EU) and 99% of my shots don’t register??
i am going to love the season resets as there is at least a tiny chance for me to catch a month or two when i have time to play outside US busy hours, so an actual fighting chance as opposed to being shot behind cover and unable to kill your opponent despite 5+ precision shots from a DMR
Personally I think one month is too short. I would like to attempt and get Onyx in everything but if I get placed in Diamond across the board I would probably have to play a lot to move up. I just don’t think one month is enough.
A month is a great time for seasons. Tat way you players can reset and get put in a good level and not caused to be screwed over by bad players cause them to have bad ranks they dont deserve.
