With the lack of personal color options to push out the shaders or coatings, would you be willing to buy a pass that allows you a custom import? I know I would. I really think Coatings should have been a premium thing.

I’m a pretty simple guy, I like my Armor, Steel black and Bronze gold, it took me FOREVER in D1 till I found a shader I like and I feel many will feel the same. I know some players who will never leave The Camo. Hell even if coatings allowed us to change the armor based on the coating layout that’d be even cooler!
All I’m saying is that there’s still some time to maybe tweak it more. Idk. I’m willing to see, they say it won’t be as bad as We think it is. But, I’m just worried. It didn’t bode well for D1, and D2 isn’t amazing but it was better for color options.

I’m still confused as to why we can’t just… do that? I’m certainly not going to spill a few bucks to make my MP character look different, and if none of y’all would do it, then we would just have free choices like we always have.

I mean… I’ll be paying $60 for it like I have for the past few games. Making MP free-to-play is a semantical thing for any player who is paying for the campaign.
Out of curiosity, do you prefer it this way?
I get that they want some way of getting money for the game, but putting colors behind a paywall? It would almost be hilarious if it wasn’t so sad. At the very least, they could give people who buy the game access to all colors.

Honestly I’m torn. I genuinely dislike the whole armour core/coating system(despite them looking fantastic)
But I’ve played quite a few fantastic games where you have to pay irl money for colors(Warframe etc etc) So I’m not phased by it.
It’s something that is unavoidable at this point. f2p= some things being monetized= monetization means more content etc etc. If i get more content by sacrificing my personal color scheme I’m fine with it.

You’re kind of rambling. At this point, the coating system is set. It is what it is. There should be enough coatings for you to find one that at least somewhat matches what you want, and more will be added down the line.

Also if we assumed 343i decides to return colour in an update it wouldnt be anything you pay for, for sure. Maybe coating styles but definitely not the actual colours of them. I hope.
They learned a lot from Halo 5s mistakes, especially the monetisation
