The way the ranking currently works, it would take a very long time to get close to your true skill.
Because its based on wins alone and not actual skill based achievements such as accuracy KDR or objectives.
Breakout for example it is easy for a very good player to be stuck in bronze/silver for a long time if playing with randoms because teamwork is so important.
This game mode more than others is all about a well oiled (communicating) team over reactions aim and other skills.
Add this to the fact that there are still many players in placement matches in the play lists that are not even close to having true skill recognized therefore further imbalancing the skill levels of teams.
What I’m saying is that if you reset ranks every 2 or three months this would mean so many players being reset before their true skill is ever recognized. I don’t have a problem per say with the way the CSR is calculated right now being so slow to find out a players true skill. However if you are going to take this slow approach, don’t ever reset ranks or the whole thing is pointless.
You will get a fresh start with new seasonal 10 placement matches the next go around. Also, if the placement matches underrank you, you will move up quickly if you win after being placed. I happened to really like the season resets, I like the fresh start. Also it’s not that bad if you get under ranked, you get a break from the harder players, and again you move fast… I got underranked in a platinum rank and moved from plat1 to plat6 to diamond very quickly… Seems like it was only 10 games to move from plat to diamond. And don’t let the rank system define you, we all know it’s a big system and not exact, some people are over ranked and some people underranked. If I get placed overanked then great I now have high rank bragging rights and hard opponents to practice with, if placed underrank then also great I get to play some easier matches and the fun of working quickly up the rank system.

Well i’ve clocked around 100 games in breakout and get cant get out of silver despite being the MVP in 90% of my games.

Start playing with people you know then. Don’t play with randoms. Not that hard.

All my buddies play PS4, I only own an xbox for Halo.
You really shouldn’t need to have an organised team in a competitive shooter to get the most out of it.
There are plenty of people who don’t want to or cant have 3 other buddies on standby at all times of the day.
