Seasonal Content//Weekly Events//PvE Potential

There’s alot of potential for Halo Infinite to build upon what we as Halo fans are already familiar with in the Halo franchise. Classic modes like basic Arena, Ranked modes, Big Team Battle, Forge, Custom Games, Theater. Now however, Halo is different. Halo has yet again evolved, with a semi-open world Campaign, a larger and more intricate BTB, and with the new Free-to-play, live service battlepass system with content constantly flowing into the game.
Seasons will bring about new stories, themes, content and a new battlepass roughly every three or two months. This means new vehicles, maps, customizations, events, etc. But I think Halo could go beyond it’s simple and old set of modes and gametypes and really drive the feeling of an evolving and fun experience every time we play.

We already know that Halo Infinite is going to be getting Seasonal events that will offer stories and content, such as the Yoroi event, and some of these events dubbed “Fractures” will be non-canon, while others will be. What I would love to see from Halo Infinite is multiplayer Seasonal events like this that offer specific and unique changes to multiplayer, like maps associated with returning events, modes and settings changes associated with said specific events, and special content that anyone can acquire just by playing in these returning events. These events will be weekly or bi-weekly and are not held down by Seasons, meaning there is no FOMO because the events will always return. Event maps, event modes, event content to show off your prowess in said event, and it’d be almost like it’s own multiplayer section when active.

What I also would love to see is a deeper and expanded Player Versus Environment scene for Halo. I love a classic Halo experience, everyone does and we deserve that. A classic and epic Firefight mode against the Banished and any other enemies would be amazing, but it’s also very arcade and could be more fleshed out. My idea is to keep that classic experience and, separately, create a new form of Spartan Ops in the form of Dungeon-style missions and maybe even long Campaign style Raids that offer special rewards. Now I know what you’re probably thinking. Halo isn’t Destiny, nor is it a looter-shooter. If there’s no loot why have RPG style modes? To which I say, there most definitely is loot especially now with the stylings of Halo Infinite’s customization types. Imagine special coatings or visors that you get by playing those dungeon style Spartan Ops missions, or the special armor sets you get by playing the Raid style Spartan Ops, plus Battlepass boosters, xp boosters, PvE specific challenges and rewards. All while keeping that classic Firefight option open for the veteran players.

I’ve heard that 343 is introducing their own unique game modes into the multiplayer experience, im really excited to see what they’ll do with the franchise going forward.

All of this, are things im dying to see during Infinite’s lifetime.

I’d really like to see 343 implement their personality into halo a bit more, glad to hear they are doing this.

Music to my ears. If Infinite just tries to be like the old games that people are screaming at them about, then the game won’t adapt to the modern market or offer anything new to sustain itself for the long term. Even if some of the stuff doesn’t totally pan out, I am okay with 343 experimenting with cool ideas, it’s far more interesting than being too afraid to add anything new for fear of upsetting the masses (who will be upset no matter what).

Amen

What would the replay value be on these events? Because as you said, halo isn’t destiny and I doubt 343 would really be able to have a continuous stream of armor for said replay value as it’s not an mmo-lite or rpg game. What would keep the players coming back to replaying the same missions or “raids” over again?

as for the raids themselves, mini bosses? Bosses? Raid phases?

Replay value would be constant additions, new reasons to play like consumables for the BP and XP and such. And 343 shouldn’t have any issues providing a constant stream of content given the nature of this game, being a live-service game. They’ve got access to armors, AI, vehicle coatings, weapon coatings, body coatings, visors, armor cores, weapon cores, emblems/nameplates, and eventually assassinations. One could argue what kind of replay value pvp has in halo as well, most people say simple fun or seasonal ranking changes. It wouldn’t always be a static thing either, so new maps and modes and missions could be added each time the event arrives.

As for the raids, Halo already has skulls for modifiers and I don’t think it’d be impossible to implement diffiuclt increases as the raid continues on towards the end. Mini-bosses and bosses are already somewhat an entity in the Halo franchise. Certain encounters in the game could almost be considered mini-bosses (Scarabs) or full Bosses (Tartarus, The Heretic guy, Prophet of Regret, Warden Eternal) And we know that certain Banished VIPs in the Campaign will function as bosses and antogonists during the story. More Raids centered around specific areas or bosses could be added with increasing difficulty as the game matures, with raids offering unique customizations with themes following the “vibe” of the raids.

It’d be a great way to implement good teamwork and high-skill combat in the PvE scene of Halo. Shooting grunts in wave after wave of enemies is fun, but it could be more fleshed out y’know?
