Not necessarily. 343 is still taking feedback on season lengths so we may see it extend a little longer. Feel free to add your own feedback in the pinned thread at the top of the forums 
Would be nice if they said outright. Dont want to try to up my ranks if they will only be wiped before i get too far.

increasing your rank can still help you for next season, though.

Thats why im so annoyed the csr glitch has decimated my onyx csr. Wanted to be sure to get onyx again next season and not place diamond again and have to grind up
