Hello, can someone please explain something to me?
so me and a buddy started playing breakout as neither of us had started the mode this month so we thought we would go through all 10 qualifying rounds together and see what ranks we got.
We smashed it and won all 10 rounds. I actually ended up having more kills per game than my friend but when it came down to being put into a league my friend got Platinum 4 (almost Plat 5) and I just scraped into Silver 3.
how is this possible when we won the same amount of matches in the same games and I also got better stats?
You’ve never placed out of Gold before in your Halo career. This means that the game KNOWS that you play like a gold and under.
Seeing as how you’ve never placed before in Breakout, that means that for your first time placing ever you will be placed against other players who are naturally not so great.
Even though you won all your games and went a total of +6 over the course of all games, it wasn’t against good players therefore you were placed where the game thinks you belong.
If at the end of this season you choose not to try and get out of silver, next season your placement matches will be against silvers and some golds and if you do exceptional you will be placed into mid gold. If not, you’re looking at high silver.
This season i’m a champ 51 in FFA. Next season no matter what happens i’ll be placed into Onyx since the game knows my skill level. If i win most of my games i’ll get into Onyx 1700 right off the bat. If i lose most then i’ll be looking around 1630 for my placement. Also, next seasons placement games i’ll be paired up against other players who were in Onyx and Champion this season.
The game placed your accordingly. All i can suggest is to get as high as you can that way next seasons placement you are actually placed against higher players giving you a greater chance to place high.
Thanks for the detailed reply! But I’m still confused on how my friend got into a better league. I’m gold in all modes and he’s gold and silver. So how did he get Plat?
