I have some suggestions for season 4 that I think would improve the game:
Visual improvements: I think the game could benefit from better particle effects, such as smoke, fire, and sparks. Explosions should look as good as they did before, but even better.
Remove critical vehicle and meltdown effects: I think vehicle damage should work like it did before, but with more detail. Vehicle destruction looks a bit silly to me, so I’d like to see these effects removed.
Add more weapons: I’d love to see more weapons added to the game, such as a railgun, saw, sticky launcher, grenade launcher, and even some Promethean weapons. I particularly enjoyed the splinter grenades in Halo 5.
More equipment: I think it would be great to see some old equipment from previous games with a new Infinite twist, as well as some completely new equipment.
HUD customization: It would be fantastic to be able to customize the HUD, or have it change with whatever core you choose.
Player outlines: While I know this is unlikely to change, I still strongly dislike the player outlines. While I can turn them off, I feel like it gives other players an advantage. It’s the worst thing, in my opinion, about Halo Infinite. I can get past all other misgivings about the game, but the player highlight effect is just too distracting.
What things would you like to see or suggest for Season 4?
yeah the vfx for infinite i think are the weakest in the whole series, i think everyone has seen how bad vehicles destruction is.
i really just want more classic covenant weapons to return with a bannished look to them like the carbine, just paint it red but a nice alien looking red. an issue i have with infinite’s art style is it barely looks or feels sci-fi, especially with the banisheds guns and vehicles, they just look bad. i get they’re supposed to be scavengers but sometimes i ask is this meant to be intentional or are the devs just slacking?
yes hud customization is a must, i would really like a tenrai themed hud and reachs old hud. current hud is pretty plain and boring to look at, i prefer the layout halos had for like the past 15 years, where the gun is in the top right and grenades top left of the screen.
No, Im just saying based on what I saw for the season 3 trailer, there wasn’t much that really got me excited. So I’m just making my wish list for the next season.
For visual improvements I’d like them to give Detachment, Argyle and The Pit a bit of a visual upgrade. They probably account for almost half of my games at the moment and they all look a bit sub standard. Just some new textures and a few unique points of interest would make a big difference.
I’m not too fussed
3 & 4. I like new stuff but it has to be good and really add something to the game. I’d rather have nothing new than things that are poorly designed.
Interesting but I’m okay with the current one.
Player outlines are a bit ugly but I’ll stop playing if they get rid of them while allowing people to have armour of any colour no matter what team they are on. As far as I’m concerned it’s a necessary evil of allowing full customisation.
I’m pretty simple in what I want for season 4 aside from the obligatory new couple of maps. Ranked from least to most important:
In game stats (or at least a fully functional Waypoint site).
Long term progression with associated unlocks.
A match composer in the style of MCC
Meaningful improvements to desync, collision issues and hit registration.
Yeah. Always up for some visual improvements. But I would prefer they fixed desync first before trying to improve the engine.
Plus they need to keep the Xbox One in play until it’s officially put out to pasture by MS.
Vehicles seem fine to me. But I’m not a huge BTB player.
More weapons and equipment always welcome. Hopefully S3 sets the standard of something new each season.
HUD… not that fussed. I’m used to it now.
And outlines are good. Especially if you want to update the visual fidelity (noise) on all the maps. Plus if you removed them you would have people choosing camo coatings and being invisible the whole game.
I always though it would be interesting like in team sniper to do away with the outlines and scope glint just to make the hiding and sniper part of it more fun. Seems pointless to sit with a sniper rifle while having a red outline with your scope shining like a flashlight and wearing neon green and orange standing out like a sore thumb.
When you watch the good players they are constantly moving and looking for players to engage.
It would be pretty boring if everyone tucked up in a hidey hole? Waiting for each other to make a move.
And anyone is who is actually any good with the sniper rifle has killed you before you can react to the glint.
Not me obviously. I’m the one in the tower waving my torch back and forth going look at me, look at me.
And the outlines? It would be too hard to see anyone. We all used to be bright red or blue on a 16 colour background of large triangles (slight exaggeration). You stood out like a sore thumb.
Now with the all the detail and colour in the scene you probably wouldn’t even see someone at distance standing still in the open.
True, I could see where in the BTB maps the distance would be too far see people. I guess it could be worth a shot on some maps…. It couldn’t be any worse than some of the other modes I’ve played.
maybe they can have the classic red vs blue as a setting and instead of a glowing outlines they just have the visor and lights on the armor glow that way it looks a bit more natural.
I’m totally on board with different options that would allow not having glowing outlines while allowing for easy enemy ID. I just think that if you want to allow full armour customisation then this sort of team identification is a necessary evil.
they just need to be more cautious of that when making maps or coatings, make sure dark areas dont completely hide a player and coatings dont completely blend into dark areas.
It’s not just about actually identifying that there is a Spartan though. It’s about figuring out which team they are on. To me that’s the bigger problem. I can deal with having to work harder to see the enemy but once I see them I want to be sure if the are actually an enemy.
theres crosshairs changing colors and aren’t gamertags still above players heads? also the intros show off your teammates and with the vast amount of custom options everyone shouldn’t have a problem making their own unique spartan, you can probably tell im being a little sarcastic.
