That would of been awesome, it’s nice to see some things are stealth dropping sometimes :grinning:

I agree, but it is hard.

Wait.

Just to confirm from the trailer; the new “Arena” maps called Cliffhanger & Chasm…these will be in Ranked Arena playlist, right?

Im really hoping the fire team wearing Mirage is a fire team of SPARTAN-IIIs and not SPARTAN-IVs wearing their iconic armour.

Trailer looks great. Certainly feels like they’re putting effort into the video so hopefully they’ve put effort into the game. However some of the armor doesn’t look all that great. Getting a little too Halo 5 looking for my taste.

Bandit Rifle is a five shot kill to Spartans with stabdard shielding:

Negative. No new ranked maps but they are planning to reintroduce Recharge during the season. It’s pretty underwhelming on that front.

WOW! That actually sucks. AT LEAST 1 new map could have been added for Ranked play… for the first time its starting to feel a bit repetitive for me … maybe cuz Recharge and the other map were removed…

I’ve long thought that the handling of ranked maps has been pretty poor. They seem to be ultra focused on what the very highest levels of competition want with little concern for the average player. Keeping some maps in ranked, even if they aren’t the absolute best for competitive play, is important for variety so regular players don’t get bored. You don’t have to use them in the HCS finals just because it’s in the ranked playlist.

Eh, big disappoint for me again.

Over a year in, no campaign updates or DLC. No PVE or anything serious and canonical.

Serial narrative content to sell cosmetics? I’ll pass. Looks pretty silly, doesn’t feel like Halo. The whole trailer just feels like fortnite or something, all actiony and focused on “packing in value” and “all the goodies” in the new season. Feels like the target audience is 13-16. I just don’t find the characters compelling, and the story has become so far removed from anything that feels familiar and Halo.

A couple of sandbox items? eh. DMR should’ve been in at launch, Bandit Rifle is a dumb name (this game feels less military science fiction every day.) Will they even be added to the campaign?

Hoping they pull the plug soon and we can move forwards towards a new game, new campaign, no free to play.

I loved the trailer and simply cannot wait to get to play on some of these new maps and even game modes! I’m super excited for Escalation Slayer!

I think they didn’t add them because the pros were saying how chasm was hard to play CTF and some other objective game modes on and cliffhanger is big for a 4v4 map.

So… Forge out a different/better map? Dont put Chasm into Pro play? Do Something???

The trailer was decent enough. It certainly was better than those earlier trailers that consisted of about 20 seconds of a Spartan or Spartans running in a straight line while shooting! I hope the “seasonal narrative story” is a little better, particularly the cutscenes, but I won’t get my hopes up there…

My biggest complaint, or criticism, is regarding the new weapon. While I am glad we are getting a new weapon, if only because it means we may get more, I really think they could have done a little better. Halo is a franchise that always had/has really interesting technology and weaponry, so the fact that the ONE new gun they’re adding - a whole year after launch, I may add! - is a black rectangle (oh wait, they changed it to green) that’s also a precision gun in a game that has a bunch of those already, it’s…well, it’s disappointing, to say the least. I’m sure there’s a lot more options they could have chosen.

I’d be okay if that happens but I’m enjoying Infinite’s multiplayer enough in the meantime. Really don’t like your chances of them dropping the free to play format though. Unless the rest of the industry starts heading away from F2P, there’s a very high chance that Halo will stick with it.

I mean at some point the industry is going to have to move away from the free to play model. The model more or less encourages you to play one game and only that one game so that you can optimize your rewards in the time that you have to play it. On top of overpricing all the digital goods in the store to maximize profits. By doing this each game is pushing its players/customers to only spend time with a single game and people don’t like this. I for one enjoy playing multiple different games and would like to be able to actually enjoy cosmetics and looking the way I would want to look in that game without having to fork over hundreds of dollars every month.

The general population is not made of unlimited expendable income. At some point this industry trend to maximize profits by siphoning money from the whales is going to leave such a terrible taste in the mass populous mouth that no one is going to want to touch a game that says free to play. Much like horde modes, loot boxes, rts’s and 2D side-scrolling platformers they’ll slowly fade out of popularity but I’m sure they’ll still be around. They just won’t be the popular form of gaming anymore.
