Ok that was absolutely insane. This may be the best update Halo infinite has ever had.
I’ve seen a still image of Drones from it. Y’know the Yamn’ee, the BUGGERS… that we haven’t had since Reach 13 years ago. Yet they’re there briefly but dead in this trailer. And no I’m not confusing them for Skimmers, there’s wings that the Skimmers don’t have.
That trailer made all the hairs on my neck stand to attention, that was spot on
Now I’m excited again for Infinites future gimme gimme gimme
THANK YOU 343 ![]()
I hope to see more community maps added along the way, there are so many great one’s there and I know it takes time to implement them, respect to those people who have taken the time to create them ![]()
100 tier Battlepass, new maps, new armor cores and hopefully some good cross core customization options!
It was great. Really looking forward to new season.
As expected they’ve put the money down for a CGI trailer which they needed to do to pull things back with the plot line. The twist was fairly obvious but it was never meant to take a year to get to it. They basically dragged out the quiet before the instigating event. Like from what we see if Irratus he seems to have just been playing the clown.
Now, three things:
If an AI like Irratus can put a Spartan into a full simulation like the Matrix and have a conversation with him. Well, what would stop Cortana doing that to Chief after Atriox threw him into space? You don’t even need the Domain to do that apparently. It would explain a lot of the weird stuff that happens in the Halo Infinite campaign. I am just saying, it is sus they’re bringing this up so prominently in a mystery box story.
It’s really weird that they’re doing that particular story. They’ve heavily course corrected away from the Created arc so this is kind of reframing the same thing. But it’s an alien AI doing it instead of a human one. Like if Irratus is a Created AI or they are going to show up that’s not been suggested in the narrative.
Also, considering they’ve been fighting Crazy AI with access to the Domain for a year I don’t know why they thought it was a good idea to bring Irratus to their secret base, copy him and upload him into their Spartans. ![]()
Looks good so far, but still going to keep expectations low to not over hype it.
Kind of curious how things will work out after this Season. Like, I see the Shroud being more effective at blinding enemies then using as cover for instance. Since it’s a small sphere, it will be obvious to see all over the map and it seeming blinds the people inside the sphere from what I can see opposed to trying to see in it. But the thing is, it being small, it’s not going to be that difficult to hit people in it as it will to hit people outside of the sphere.
Also, I have to ask this just for the sake of it. What does the bandit rifle offer that isn’t already available thanks to the Commando and Battle Rifle? If you make weapons too similar, it’s just going to be a case of the worst options being left behind, the better options will be prioritized. To the point one or more of the guns might become just a worthless option that no one will touch. Could possibly just be a waste of time implementing it. Maybe a Starting weapon for BTB instead of the Pistol perhaps, one that’ll you’ll replace if you get your hands on the Commando or Battle Rifle?
But I guess time will tell in the long run. We’ll have to wait and see.
After thought on what I wrote, why not put current community playlist into normal matchmaking so it’s not dividing the fun, then bring in new maps to the community playlist, they work great with a bit of testing.
A lot of community maps are on par with dev maps, I loved the way on mcc I could select game type and play that game type on any map, merge dev and community together for that same experience rather than having to select one or the other.
Just a suggestion…
Still no overall progression system though? Hmmmmm!
Also, is that a Halo version of Gun Game… That one spartan that is seemingly killing different Spartans with different weapons. He gets a new weapon after every kill.
Yes. That is what it is. Not very new to Halo and not my thing but neat to see.
If the 3 month seasonal thing is legit, we can exoect a lot more soon.
The thing im excited about id new coatings. They actually look a lot more indepth than previously, as i expected would happen soon. Guns, armor and vehicles.
Spartan Dinh’s story is actually pretty interesting and not something that we’ve seen in Halo. A rogue A.I. taking over a spartan. It’s neat, but unfolding much too slowly. Hopefully we get more than just a couple of 1 min cutscenes of Agryna talking this time.
New BTB maps are refreshing. Hopefully they play well. And Escalation Slayer will be hype.
Just more cosmetics to a fundamentally broken/unfinished game, meh. They can throw a 1000-tier free BP, 20 armor cores, 50 maps and 15 modes, but with forced crossplay and desync completely destroying all the fun of the game it’s all for nothing. Just as always, people see something new and get hyped as hell forgetting how bad the game still is, only to come back after a week complaining about the exact same old things they’ve been since launch. Fix/finish your game first 343.
Agree. That was a hype trailer?
All this means nothing without fixes to the core gameplay.
Was pretty much everything we already knew about plus an extra map and at least one legitimate cutscene for the narrative. It looks better than previous seasons but it’s difficult to get too excited. Hopefully we get a new roadmap soon that fills in the gaps.
Also side note, this weekend is the event with the new Weapon Coatings for Pistol, Assault Rifle, Commando, Bulldog and Battle Rifle. All earned through watching 2 hours during twitch streams.
Currently up is Pistol coating via official Halo twitch, and Assault Rifle via Co-Streamers.
finally figured out what Mirage makes me think of. four words:
Go go power rangers!
While I do agree that core gameplay must be fluid, there is nothing to good gameplay if there isn’t good content. I completed every battlepass event this game revealed even during all the bugs and inconsistencies at its worse.
In the end, lest face it, even fi they did fix the bugs first, that isn’t going to bring you back to the game. The next complaint would just be lack of content and then the circle repeats. So its right for them to pump this out first, it gives us something to do while they fix more mechanical features.
The new maps look really good, hopefully the gameplay is on the same level. Disappointed that the 3 maps still in the community playlist haven’t been considered finished enough to go into normal rotation. Hopefully that happens during the season.
The bright coatings and new cores don’t do much for me but that’s okay, other people will like it.
The Bandit looks cool but like @General_Fox said I’m not sure where it fits in compared to the BR and Commando. Still a new weapon is nice to have.
I like the shroud shield as a genuinely unique new piece of equipment. It looks really good and should add gameplay variety.
Gun game does nothing for me. I’m not against new modes but there’s already a lot of unpopular playlists. Until there’s a proper match composer, I feel like it’s kind of pointless adding more.
Overall I think it shows that lack of content is no longer going to be an issue going forward. They’ve hit the point where they can produce enough content (with community Forgers help) to keep things fresh. All future effort needs to be on bugs and gameplay fixes.
