Season 2 Updates

As you know there were quite a few changes implemented with S2. New maps, new game modes, balance changes etc.

I wanted to bring attention to a couple of things that seem to have slipped under the radar.

  1. Death Sound.

It seems that Spartans now gasp when they are killed, compared to what sounded like a tie fighter laser in season 1.

  1. New Medals

Recently I earned a “Counter Snipe” for killing an enemy sniper with my own sniper while we were both scoped in. Has anyone seen any other new medals?

  1. Balance Changes

The Ravager was buffed, but it seems a few other weapons have had some adjustments as well. I see a few people claiming that the Commando now feels easier to use. While I didn’t personally notice this, the Shock Rifle seems to kill a lot more readily than ever before. Did it get a damage buff?

The SPNKR got buffed! It now is more responsive (shorter firing delay between switching weapons) and I believe the projectile speed was increased.

Short list I know, but these are a few things I haven’t seen anyone talking about. Have there been any other changes you’ve noticed that aren’t in the limelight? Let’s talk about it!

Banshee got bomb and bullet buffs, as well as speed buffs, but I think the health is still weak compared to other games. I haven’t been able to find a Rockethog, but I hope they buffed it too, because Rockethog damage is trash in this game, especially compared to normal Warthog and Gungoose TTK

Oh yeah and Overshield got a 0.5x buff if people didn’t notice that it’s pretty tough now

Haven’t tried out the Banshee yet. The changes are supposed to bring it more in line with it’s strike-fighter role. Is it significantly more effective? In season 1 it was more of an annoyance than a true threat.

I say it seems like it’s pretty good. You can finally one shot people with a bomb and take off really fast, or you can move a lot slower now and shoot more precisely. It just doesn’t have enough Health to be able to slam into enemies anymore for flip splatters, because you’ll blow it up. You could easily splatter spree with it in other games, but now you have to worry about touching walls and the ground, or getting jacked or shocked

My Spartan made death sound in S1. The problem is it sometimes uses the wrong voice ID since S2.

Addition of sound to kill effects.

I think OS got an extra half bar of shield health, not a 50% increase (unless it’s the same idk).

The Drop Shield also got a little bit stronger too, and it deploys quicker now.

50% shield, 0.5 shield, and half shield increase are the same, yes. It’s now 3.5x overshield compared to 3.0x. Also I forgot about the drop wall, that also did get a nice buff. It can take 2 frags now before breaking
