To start it off, I’m both happy and disappointed with it.
Happy:
Mainly I like the huge amount of customisation 343 added to the Battle Pass. (For F2P) There are 2 Mark VII helmets, 1 Rakshasa helmet, 5 pairs of Mark VII shoulders, 2 pairs of Mark VII knee pads, 1 weapon charm, 7 coatings, 1 AI colour, 2 Mark VII chest attachments, 1 Mark VII helmet attachment, 1 Mark VII utility, 3 Mark VII visors, and 1 Mark VII wrist. Compared to Season 1, this is a massive improvement and I look forward to maxing out this battle pass.
Disappointed:
I’m mostly disappointed with the Rakshasa core because of how little customisation there is for the F2P side. We only have 2 pieces of cosmetics for the (f2p) Rakshasa core - A helmet named Rasetsu and a coating named Byzantium Dream. Both of which are very nice cosmetics. Honestly though aside from my wish for more Rakshasa cosmetics, I understand the need for the Premium Pass to have more desirable cosmetics such as the Artaius helmet.
It’s fine. I’ll be really excited when the core lock between Mk VII and Rakshasa is minimized- I’m itching for a lot of the scrappy looking pieces for the new core, but don’t love the underlying aesthetic of the techsuit and think most of the helmets for it look downright meh.
More customization content is a good thing no matter how you slice it though!
What they should do is make us have crossover fractures.
Imagine having Doom’s Praetor suit inspired armor, or an armor core resembing COG armor from Gears of War, or an armor core that is to be a more compact recreation of Fallout’s many Power Armors?
Would be fun.
And as for another collab in other games . . . . I am honestly surprised that we don’t have a Master Chief or Emile outfit for use in Doom Eternal.
Yes actually if you get an among us account on xbox exclusively you get a, Master chief helmet with blue visor, master cheif armor, and a 343 guilty spark pet.
I really don’t like the free side of the pass. While it does have more customization content than season 1, a lot of the free stuff is really ugly in my opinion. The helmets are blocky (linebreaker and rasetsu especially), the shoulder pieces are just flat slabs of metal, the coatings have awful color schemes, and the few attachments we get are either weirdly chunky (there’s just a brick of metal protruding out of your Spartan’s stomach in the packrat rig) or barely noticeable (paradise rig). I actually like Dinh’s helmet and chest attachment a lot, but of course those are paywalled. There’s just not a lot of good free stuff in the pass.
I also think the Rakshasa core also has a weird techsuit. It looks like it didn’t even start off as part of a Spartan’s armor. It looks more like cargo pants and a bulletproof vest under some armor pieces.
I’m just frustrated that I still won’t be able to actually make the Spartan I want like I could in the MCC by just playing the game.
There’s a lot of cool gear in the Battle Pass (I will be claiming that Mantle Emblem ). I like both maps. The Spartan story stuff looks interesting. New modes look neat.
The issue is it’s took them six months to get here and we are looking at a similar wait until the next big thing. It’s not ideal and they’ve admitted as much. Makes sense, you’re basically halving the amount of income the game can make.
I find it bizarre… if there were no seasons or battle passes would we still be playing? Or do we only play to receive sparkly things.
I enjoy doing challenges or achievements but I don’t need any gifts attached to them.
It’s weird… I bought season one after I completed the battle pass. I basically bought the armour. Maybe it was available in the shop for less. I’m not sure.
So my thoughts on S2 BP - it doesn’t do anything. You’re just buying stuff from the shop.
