Season 2 armors

Just saw pics and I think it saved me some money and time wasting. Looks more like a killzone game than halo.

I think the Season 2 armor looks badass

Especially the German and American inspired helmets. :sunglasses:

I’m super pumped for Season 2 armors. I’m looking forward to unlocking some more sets and growing my collections.

I approve of the armors. Something new and fresh. They don’t fit a halo 3 or reach aesthetic but I still get halo vibes from them. Much better than the samurai armor of season 1.

Only good iron eagle armors are the helmets that look like an M1 helmet and the German one. I’m curious what customization the lone wolves core will have though they seem pretty interesting

I’m pretty sure all the spartans in the key art are Lone wolves spartans, and they look SICK

Lone Wolves core got me liking it so far, hoping the coatings will be decent on it

I’m thinking I don’t like the Fractures core. Looks very Killzone and/or Fallout power armor. Just aesthetically the wrong amount of ā€œchonkā€ for Halo, IMO. It would be cool if we saw Microsoft leverage their Bethesda IP with a Fallout armor set for this Fractures core, though.

The Lone Wolves core looks really good to me, however. Definitely a different flavor and I would say that it doesn’t much look like powered armor, rather, more like SIII Headhunters attire (I think this is what they were going for, but lore-wise they’ll have to reconcile it being a powered and shielded core). In other words, it looks a little less technologically sophisticated than any of the other canon cores. But I really do dig the ā€œtacticoolā€ vibe.

I noticed one of the helmets belongs to Spartan-006

I think you guys haven’t seen the same armor sets I have

Looks great. Should give reason to go back on game.

I think they look great. I’m assuming you’re talking about the fracture armours that are not canon like the tenrai armour from season 1. Those are part of an event that is free. They still have your more traditional, canon Halo armour.

The Lone wolves core?
Looks cool, especially the the spartan they feature on the right side of the initial reveal.
Iron eagle core?
Not my particular cup of tea, but the Wolfenstein helm looks neat.
The Warmaster helm? Hawt. The gilded shoulder pads? The elite skull? Hawt.

Even if I didn’t see whatever you’re looking at, I like what I’m seeing.

I think they’d best fit into a ā€˜semi-canon’ state as ā€˜Insurrectionist Spartans’

They look like lower quality Spartan suits but still with intimidating users with strength behind it

I feel like that there are larger issues than how the armors that they showcased in their teaser trailer looked. Personally, I think that the armor with the helmet that has those two red eyes looks kind of awesome. It’s got that WWII vibe. MintBlitz had a video with some of the leaked Season 2 armor sets and (in my opinion) they look really cool. And again, it’s not like they’re cannon or anything, that’s why they’re ā€œFractureā€ armors.

That larger I feel needs to be addressed is the fact that 343 will try to aggressively monetize much of the fracture armor pieces and other items without equally aggressive criticism of said scummy monetization strategy. I feel like one of the (many) things we need to focus on is making sure to stifle any such attempt. If at some point we’re at least partially successful at a reasonable level, then I feel like it would be safe to discuss whether these armor sets are in the ā€œspiritā€ of what Halo is, for lack of a better word.

It pretty much makes Spartans look like members of the Brotherhood of Steel from fallout, and as someone who thinks the Brotherhood is one of the coolest factions to ever exist in gaming I think its going to be awesome. Everything about these ā€˜Fractures’ just rubs me the right way, I can’t wait to see what they come up with in the future!

I like WW2 history as well, so there’s just another reason I like this core!

it feels very steampunk like… i’m all for it. and though i don’t like the whole multiverse trash… i can accept the s2 armor as at least it feels more like halo when compared to tenria. like armor that was before reach

I know some people like Star Wars armor, because they like that Stormtrooper look, well this is OG Stormtrooper look, so it’s just a shame there’s no Cross-core for Fractures, since the body looks like a blown out tea kettle, but the helmets are nice

It’s Dieselpunk, fuel powered dystopia. Steampunk is steam powered dystopia. Halo is Cyberpunk, especially 4 and 5 style armors. Cyber Showdown is Retropunk. I think Tenrai qualifies as Silkpunk, but it’s hard to tell based solely off the armor. Shame we don’t get a new map with each Fracture.
