i was jsut wondering if someone could make a tier list for this season. Up until recently I have been using Pavium who for me is amazing and has carried me pretty far in multiplayer with burnout 2 mega turrets and Lich vanguards. Then I tried arbiter after many people told me he has the greatest late game, up until that point I thought it was pav and I can agree with that now. I was just want to see ur guys’ thoughts on who’s the best and who’s not so good. I know Decimus is really good and the same with Anders but I’m not 100% with the others and both of them when in 1v1s and when in team fights like 3v3s
S- Anders, Deci, Forge
A- Jerome, Atriox, YapYap, Colony, Shipmaster, Pavium
B- Arbiter, Cutter, Isabel, Kinsano
C- Johnson, Voridus
D- Serina

> D- Serina
I like Serina more than Isabel but I feel like the advantages she has is only realized on maps with teleporters.

Would u say Anders and Decimus are both s tier in 1v1s it is that for 3v3s or is that just in general. Also would u mean to say that Anders is the best s tier in 1v1s?

1v1 tier list, but they’re good in teams too. Anders is the best, although the list isn’t exactly ordered.
Don’t play Anders in teams, I had an Anders today ping their base because they were getting attacked by ankle biters,

Isn’t Jerome as broken as Anders and Deci though? Shouldn’t he be S tier too?

Anders should be f tier.

No, he’s not. There are maps where he can beat S tier leaders, and even do so easily. But then there are other maps where he loses to even Isabel.
If you really think some leaders are strictly better than others you don’t really understand the game.
There are three general strats.
Teching
Turtleing
Rushing
All leaders optomize in ATLEAST one.
Teching beats turtling
Rushing beats teching
Turtleing beats rushing
If i hear that forge is one of the best leaders one more time ima flip

Gonna try to do this without stat flaming seeing as I’m on my last strike here…
Because all leaders optimize in at least one of three areas, that means that they’re balanced? Isabel’s tech is as good as Forge’s? Obviously not. For someone accusing others of not understanding the game well, your understanding is very surface level. The whole “tech, turtle, rush” thing is a rock paper scissors idea that can be found in the first few pages of the Halo Wars 2 strategy guide. It might hold up at a low level, but once you start actually learning the game you can recognize the concept as what it is- training wheels.
Tech beats turtle? Try beating a Colony who turrets up with a Hunter Captain with any T2 units. Even in this niche situation, the turtle wins. Where turtles are actually found is in late game, T3. And at that point when you’re both T3, there is literally no option to tech.
Rush beats tech? Maybe if we’re talking about a gen 1st balls to the wall fast tech. But as for a standard 2 gen tech, there’s more than enough time to build turrets and defensively place units to hold a rush. Take Jerome vs Ship on Rift. Though Jerome is known for having a very strong hero, the Hero/Marine/Flamer composition won’t beat a Ship who sits back with turrets, grunts, and suis. You might pick off a few pads, but the Rangers will start pumping and you’ll have to retreat, still in T1 and your opponent has T2. The better idea would be to focus on power nodes and minibases- but that isn’t a rush. That’s playing for the map.
Perhaps the only true statement you made was that turtling beat rushing. But what I’ve laid out should show you how defense-oriented the game is. It should go without saying that an army under a shield or backed up by turrets is superior to one without them, but there’s also the fact that new units have less of a distance to cover when you’re on defense. “Defender’s advantage” exists in pretty much every RTS game, but Halo Wars’ mechanics just exacerbate the issue.
…And by the way, Forge is one of the best leaders.
