It’s nice they put it out. Although it does feel like they’re laying the groundwork for a low key season 2. On the maps only talks about the two maps we know of.
The hammer does not compete with the sword unless it’s at range or you get the drop on them. The hammer clashes with the sword and then the sword wins because the hammer is slow as hell. The general melee reduction means that nothing will be able to stop a sword.
“Just grab a repulser.” It’s Fiesta… I can’t just grab whatever I want, I have to spawn with it or hope someone else had one when they died and get to it before it despawns. If one does have a repulser it only counters if they don’t have thruster or grappleshot. It’s Fiesta… they’re going to be looking for grappleshot.
The bottom line is that nothing is a reliable counter and everything just got even less reliable including the Mangler which to me was the most reliable counter.
That and in my experience the Repulsor doesn’t even repulse from time to time… It seems to be very inconsistent (both probably a problem with server issues)
I’m having to call BS on this one. Currently there are only two “aspects” 343i needs to focus on between Controller vs M&K; Wins and Kills… As it stands now, I’m seeing that a player on a PC with M&K have a better than a 90% chance of having the most kills and be on the winning team (Cheating, maybe…). If I’m wrong, 343i should have the hard data on this and they could simply show it to us.
Really should never have been a live service. Clearly unprepared for that landscape. Oh well. Maybe the game will get better…next year, or the year after…
Something that they mentioned that I have not seen discussed yet is this:
Would be good if that not only applied to social playlists. Anyway we should see more variety instead of the mostly static playlists we had in season 1.
The very fact you’re upset about this and fighting back against a narrative that not only tells you there’s more to the story is telling the same thing to the side you’re against who’s also getting upset about this and fighting back over the same thing as you.
More specifically this point:
Is the entire reason these points exist:
Notice that it’s the same point inverted suggesting the problem/concern is far more rooted in perspective bias than it is in fact. Even though there’s some data and evidence to support/refute both perspectives, it’s not as black and white as players want to claim it to be. There is a correlative issue, and it’s not as cut and dry as biased players would believe and purport.
The official point of “he says, she says; neither of you are seeing the whole picture” is brilliant, and I’m looking forward to the data and approach to this moving forward for the betterment of Controller players and KBM players alike.
I think the more playlists we get, and the more popular playlists become, they’ll rotate game types in and out of ranked… for example KotH for Oddball.
If they put too many game types in one playlist the challenge system will only get worse.
this part is a compleet joke more: We believe supporting crossplay as our primary avenue for players to match make is important to maintaining healthy and populated matchmaking experience for players to find matches quickly. There’s work on our feature list we’re looking to get into future updates along with improvements to our anti-cheat systems to help ensure better matchmade experiences.
the parts there got wrong is important to maintaining healthy and populated matchmaking experience are compleet wrong.
if crossplay was becoming a option then it was more true but not its more a compleet joke.
and this topic is not going do anything good about it at all its only making it more worse then its now more.
Feedback: Controller players believe M&K players have the advantage

It sounds to me like anything that doesn’t outright work in the favor of your stance means it benefits the opposition by default, even when the same thing is happening to the opposition from their perspective as well.
Controller and MKB are never going to be equal because the factors that determine that outcome extend beyond the common factors both sides use as evidence to support/refute claims. That doesn’t mean that the playing field can’t be further refined to establish a happier medium that benefits players regardless of the input choices.
Sorry the official answer doesn’t favor your stance, but good news is it doesn’t favor your opposition either.
