Season 1, free content removed

They never stated the contrary.

Here’s a hypothetical for comparison:

I put up a sign at the bottom of my driveway by the sidewalk one day saying “FREE LEMONADE!” and I hand out lemonade for free all day with my daughter. At the end of the day we take down the sign and put it in the closet. The rest of the lemonade that people didn’t collect that day goes in the fridge.

Someone comes to my door the next day, we’ll name her Karen, frustrated that the sign and the lemonade aren’t at the bottom of my driveway anymore and demands free lemonade. Thinking she’s entitled to it, when she didn’t stop and collect it while we were handing it out the day before.

Should she get free lemonade? Am I obligated to give it to her?

Let’s say I used home grown lemons from my lemon tree to make the lemonade.

I sell my lemons and the lemonade at the local market.

I tell her she can stop by the market and buy some if she wants to, but that I’m not giving it out for free anymore.

She throws a tantrum and refuses to take that as an answer.

That’s what you and others are doing. How can you not see it?

It’s been explained and detailed in this thread. Multiple times. You’re educated now. Make an informed decision moving forward.

#3
They should not revert it. That would be them giving free users the same luxuries Premium users paid for.

Look at literally any other Battle Pass experience and there’s no cause for belief that content from past seasons will remain available, period.

Look at the FAQ posted in November of 2021 regarding this Battle Pass and there’s no cause for belief that content from past seasons will be available to free users.

No part of your argument is reasonable.

It’s 100% Karen. Through and through. Just like the hypothetical.

You’ve been given the fairness you’re asking for. You somehow can’t see that. That’s on you.

Karen? Bro. I was done with this like 4 days ago. Later than that even because 4 days ago I was going back and forth with Modod on the same subject.

I didn’t reinitiate argument. You did. You think I want to go back and forth with you on this?

I already cemented my opinion. Why you trying to change it? Is this because of criticism against 343? Because this is pretty tame compared to the crap shouted at them on a daily basis on twitter.

All I’m saying is “be fair.” That’s all.

No. Frankly, I don’t like the way you’re talking to me.

I just happen to share an you opinion don’t like.

Which is fine, but don’t go nitpicking at me like I’m inept. I get enough of that from passive aggressives lurking around the forums already.

I’m not calling you an idiot.

I’m calling you stubborn and prideful. You literally refuse to accept and admit that your opinion has no validity to it, and nothing backing it. Despite proof to the contrary.

You keep trying and keep getting responses that reference the original responses. Because no matter how you spin it, the original response was all that was needed to prove you wrong.

I’ve admitted when I was wrong here on the forum. It’s not hard. It doesn’t hurt.

It’s a simple “I’m wrong.” or “My bad, I get it now.” or “That makes sense when you break it down like that.” :joy:

I keep responding because of things like this:

Instead of just saying “I’m wrong” or “I get it now”, you make an implication that free users not having Premium luxuries “isn’t fair” instead.

I know that you know that “be fair” makes no sense to say when the way the Battle Pass currently works is generous.

Could have even still said something like “switching your season shouldn’t be one of the Premium perks” or even something as simple as “that’s dumb” and avoided admitting to being wrong.

But you went with “be fair” which is another false implication that it “isn’t” already fair :joy:

I’m not wrong, but I’m tired of arguing with you.

All I’m simply saying is free items you get from the the battle pass should remain free. Not absorbed into the premium. That’s a fair statement.

There. I’m not arguing with you anymore. If you think making that statement is me being prideful, that’s saying a lot more about you than me.

“All Battle Passes in Halo Infinite are permanently available and upgrading to the premium Battle Pass is always an option.”

It’s fair for you to upgrade to premium in order to select which season you’re progressing like the others.

It’s not fair for that to be handed out for free when others have paid for it.

Expecting it to be “fair” by your definition isn’t reasonable nor is it commendable. It comes across as cheap, and makes you sound like a Karen for asking in the way that you are.

That’s all.

Edit:

If it was never exclusively a Premium feature, I wouldn’t have cared and this thread wouldn’t exist.

I’m not saying that the best choice was made.

I’m arguing that you can’t take away from Premium players to give to the free players, when it’s already been presented to the Premium players as a paid luxury and call that fair.

Premium players might also have the ability to still use it the way they did when it was exclusive to them, but it devalues the purchase that was made and I doubt 343 is in a hurry to hand out partial refunds to every single person who purchased or create an alternate in-game compensation for all of them. Since part of the purchase is no longer of value and shouldn’t have been included in the description.

Devaluing the feature without compensation just to appease free players doesn’t fit the definition. There are 2 actual fair routes.

The first is the obvious, that free players purchase Premium and make use of the feature.

The second is that 343 makes it a free feature for all players, and gives a partial refund in credits to every single player who purchased Premium while reducing the cost in credits for all future purchases. They aould also replace its exclusivity value with some kind of Premium exclusive armor coating, armor set or AI color to be given to all current and future Premium players.

The first summary is my original response. See the second below for the updated one.

Summary

Why you even here? Nobody has said a word about you.

You see my point about passive aggressives now, right? You are one of those people.

I didn’t flag you. Someone else did. But you have to wonder why you keep getting flagged in the first place. Maybe it’s because you’re always trying to start mess?

I don’t care if you’ve blocked me. Half the time you’re the one trying to instigate arguments so that’s no problem for me. But if you blocked me, stop trying to slight me like I can’t understand what you’re talking about.

Summary

Look. I’m going to make this as serious as I can possibly make it.

I don’t know what I did or don’t remember what I did to set you off but constantly making jabs at me is getting irritating.

If you’ve blocked me, then that should be the end of it. No futher responses, no “he did this or that”. Just completely ignore me like you’ve been doing and we’ll have no issues. You don’t like me, and I don’t like you.

We will never have to interact and I’m fine with that. Just. Stop. Bothering. Me.

Contrary to popular belief, I’m not here to argue back and forth with you. I’m here to talk about game stuff and share thoughts on 343’s handling of Infinite.

That’s all.

Fixed it for you.

“No. All Battle Passes in Halo Infinite are permanently available and upgrading to the premium Battle Pass is always an option. Season Progress is applied to whichever Battle Pass the player has selected as currently active in-game and Changing which season you have selected as currently active in-game is available as part of the premium Battle Pass.

The rest is irrelevant moving forward.

People are now educated and know how it works, they have 3 options. Continue to play for free with the luxuries they’re given for free, upgrade to the premium Battle Pass and enjoy its features or simply uninstall.

Unless, of course, 343 is willing to devalue it as an exclusive feature of the premium Battle Pass and issue credits to all current premium players as a partial refund. Alternatively they could issue another form of in-game compensation such as premium Battle Pass exclusive coatings, an AI color, a nameplate etc.

late response but it’s most likely 343 higher ups trying to appease microsoft who are trying to appease their shareholders. they saw the fortnite craze and realized they had a cash cow with a huge name that sells itself. Being it’s such a big name they could put minimal effort and money into it and milk it for the next decade. Guarantee you they all sat there talking about how all they have to do is keep drip feeding content every 6-12 months but they gotta make sure it’s just enough content that by the end it may come close to actually being enough material to be considered a fully fledged title. Can’t put out too much because that’ll cost more money to develop. Oh while we’re at it hire 90% temp workers for 2 weeks at a clip so we can cut costs and maximize profits while stiffing our customers with garbage they don’t want and never asked for.

Let’s say this: a lot would be considered a strong minority,. So anywhere from 33-42%.

33-42% in reference to what specifically?

I’m honestly a bit confused what you’re trying to convey.

IMO that’s EXACTLY what happened, and again imo, that kind of Corporate tomfoolery should be outlawed in every state. It’s not only basically fraud, these devs who do this CONSTANTLY falsely advertise their games.

There are about two gaslighters here, and it’s not the ones you’re referring to and antagonizing without provocation.

There’s clearly some posts you don’t agree with which is perfectly ok, not everyone is going to see eye to eye. Bring something constructive or insightful to the conversation to challenge the narrative you disagree with or stop inciting vitriol for no reason other than to incite vitriol, it’s not lending anything useful or healthy to a pretty overall productive dialogue.

This is still going?
Guys can we please refrain from name calling or unprovoked attacks on peoples character, purely because you have a differing opinion on a video game?
And can you at the very least provide some sort of contribution to the conversation instead of labeling people deffenders.
Especially when those people’s “lies” are backed up by sources.

Id love it if someone could provide evidence to counter whats been shown in this thread.
Itd be reason to join the popular side of the debate.
But that does not seem to be happening.
People are entitled to their opinion and emotional responces and I don’t think treating other community members as the enemy will lead to anything beneficial.
Constructive discussions are not built on name calling.

Really would love to hear an thoughts that have some merit or baering on the issue thats not just mocking people’s intelligence, should have something to add.

Listen, I don’t what you’re on, but you’re going to have to wake up. This isn’t a free speech zone. You’re on the forum of a private company. Look up their ToS. They have the right to remove you should you become a bother to the forum goers.

Free speech don’t work around here. They have rules. You wanna stay here? You’re gonna have to start following them.

They’re relatively simple. Keep criticism constructive and non combative and don’t harass folks. You are fully capable of following those rules because I can.

And I’m “supposedly” the one who argues all the time.
