So, I downloaded everything last night, was able to do some customization in the menu, jumped into the only playlist currently available, and I get stuck in a continuous loop of searching for players in the game lobby. Eventually, I get a message stating there may not be enough players to support the gametype/playlist and that I should try a different one. But since there is just the one, I have yet to be able to play a single game. At least the music is off during search and comes back when it fails (eventually), so I can just start it searching again. I’m going to keep it searching for the next several hours or so and see if I can get into a game at some point today. Maybe too few people were playing last night when things started going for the early preview. shrugs But I’m having no luck at all right now. Anyone else having this issue?
The longest I’ve had to wait is about 3-4 mins, and its usually about 2 mins. This is all part of the package of a beta. I’m surprised the game runs as well as it does for such an early build.
Probably because not many people on playing this at the moment, I suspect it would increase at certain times when most people are probably on since most people have to wait another week for the open beta.
Yeah, but I assumed primetime on a Friday night would be good and in the afternoon on a Saturday, as well. Still have not had the game move beyond searching for players, yet.
The strange thing is, whenever I start up the game, the first matchmaking process is blazing fast, like 10-15 seconds or so and all 8 players are there.
The problem arises when someone leaves when all 8 players have joined, then you can wait for the sky to fall until someone replaces that player and you can’t leave with the B button anymore because you’re locked in. Closing the game on the dash and restarting is faster than waiting for the player to come.
The same problem is on the intermission screen (seriously WHY DOES IT TAKE 60 SECONDS?). When someone leaves there the same long wait occurs when the game begins to start searching for players after the 60 seconds have gone by. It also shows one individual multiple times when someone else has joined.
343, why is there such a difference in waiting times between these two instances? It better be fixed before the 29th when the masses arrive, because otherwise expect a world of hurt from disappointed people.
Another thing is the black screen with 3 dots on startup. It takes about a minute for me to go into the menu from there. Is that the same for everyone else?
Yeah, I get the same delay on the animated dots for the black screen on startup.
I literally haven’t found any players or been able to get in a single game yet, though. So the “Setting Up Slayer” -> “Searching for Players” never finds anyone else for me to play with, apparently. After enough time passes it tells me that there may not be enough players in that Playlist, but since it’s the only one ALL the players should be in there. Strange I can’t find a game.
Luckily I’m a big fan of campaign play so I’d spend most of my time in that to begin with for Halo 5 until I beat it (when it launches), but I’d be really disappointed if the multiplayer was broke for me.
Still no game / players found. More than an hour of continuous matchmaking “Searching for Players” with never one being found. I’ll keep hitting “A” twice when it tells me no players found and to restart matchmaking search for as long as I can, though. Hopefully someone will be able to detect some sort of issue there that can be fixed up.

there is no issue no one is playing
lol never had a connection issue 20+ games played so far
There are tons of people playing on the early preview. Can see them all talking here on the forums. Heheh. Still not able to find a single game yet. That’s many hours of solid searching with no game finds. Not even partial finds and being dropped back to an empty lobby or anything. Just keeps searching and then states no players available on the playlist.
Didn’t get to play a single game during the whole preview event.
And I spent hours multiple times on several days trying to get into a game. Not very promising.
Matchmaking apparently broken. Strange how all the other multiplayer games I have I can play just fine.
I have the same problem. It’s the open beta, EVERYONE is on… yet I’ve been sitting here for twenty minutes of continuous searching. 'There may not be enough players to support a game in this playlist. Please try a different playlist." ITS THE ONLY FREAKING PLAYLIST THERE IS 343!! THERES THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE PLAYING, AND YOU CANT FIND A SINGLE ONE!
Same problem here, almost 2 hours into the beta and I have not played a single match.
Yup, same issue as I experienced with the Preview. The beta still has the same problem and I’ve yet to play a single game. Good job on not taking feedback from me during the preview and fixing the issue for the beta. I’ll just assume it’ll still be broken when you launch the game, I guess.

This is the same for me. Hard reset fresh install and still not one game to be found.
Having the same problem here – I’ve tried reinstalling, using different accounts, hard resets… no change. Kind of a bummer not to be able to play, especially when so many other people have the same glitch.
Lol43’d
Where are you playing from? EU?
Playing from USA
Lol I still haven’t found a game. Love this beta.
