ive tried all of the search preferences and it makes little to no difference…balanced is the exact same as focused and expanded is just the same thing except im more likely to encounter partied up players…its ridiculous…i play by myself…i just want a slightly more social experience with expanded…but i guess having an occasional fun social experiance in a game i payed sixty dollars for is a little to much to ask
Go for FFA - relying on MM to give you a balanced game in team playlists will never happen - H3, HR, H4, MCC, COD MW1-3, BO, BO2, Killzone 2 &3 - I’ve never encountered a truly fun and balanced social experience that you are talking about.
They make a clear difference for me in lists with a good population. Connection is clearly better than it was.

and what playlist would that be because i play on expanded and im still facing tryhards 75 percent of the time

Pretty sure if you read what they said about these preferences in the updates it’s as much about quality of connection as tight rank matching.
And I can’t say for sure whether I’ve lost or won more games because of quitters on either team.

wait what? that doesnt make sense why would that have any affect on arena? thats ranked…i know what its supposed to do i read it…thats why i find it hard to believe that it has alot to do with connection because im just getting the same players as i always do…i dont know theres nothing i can do about it anyway…i just wish they would have an option thats only about connection and nothing else…or in other words…social
Yeah I just leave it on balanced. It seems to be the exact same as before the update.
As uk player on ffa (currently onyx 1837) i can say this:
- balanced: hardly get a game, always unplayable on us servers. So lose due to poor connection. Lose rank.
-focused: virtually never get a game, still get some on us servers. And always against diamonds so barely rank up.
Region lock option would have sorted the whole problem but 343 dont seem to care for uk players.
Would now say i get 50 per cent of my focused mm games on us servers when im an eu player. Focused is a total farce. In fact the whole ranking system is a cruel joke on eu players as 343 seemingly want us to fail. Why else give us such horrendous matches?
I feel like there is no difference, but I haven’t had any lag issues being on focused so I can’t complain…Which is nice.
