I am back really enjoying MCC at the moment. The last season saw some really good armour. My Reach and Halo 3 Spartan look awesome.
Can’t wait for Halo Infinite 2: DESTINY of the Master Chief. I say with a full body eye roll.
That’s something I want to see.
Well, the full body eye roll, not that other thing.
even if only the whales are all that is left, that is very VERY bad for Any game’s longevity, and it’s because a multiplayer game without players is dead in the water… Which is why the best way for change to happen in a F2P game is to abandon it en masse…
When a mass exodus of players happens, eventually the whales will get bored too and one of two things will happen… Either the devs haul -Yoink!- and fix the game and turn it around like what happened to Rainbow Six Siege… or it goes into permanent maintenance mode and gets shelved cause the product failed and trying to salvage it isn’t worth the expense (the graveyard of F2P Live Services is quite vast for a reason…)
Whichever happens, I was at the very least able to enjoy the Campaign…
… Oh Anthem, so much potential but built upon Lies.
For real though,a of you jump over to the Battlefeild 2042 side of things it’s eeriely similar to Halo Infinite…
They straight admitted they gutted the game and replaced classes with specialist cus they like CODs model of selling skins…
343 said changes are coming. It it’s not something to be excited about, no it’s, ok you messed up and failed to impress, let’s see what you have now to impress.
That seems to be what some people are forgetting. The majority of what the community is demanding of 343 right now isn’t “improving” the game in the traditional sense. It’s about getting the game to what should have been an acceptable state for shipping and deployment.
Have you seen the movie Free guy… Somehow games like Halo and Battlefield feels like someone in the company was essentially like the Antagonist in the game, knew it was bad but didn’t care and was like ship it anyway
Considering No Man’s Sky legally did not lie, I doubt much will come of this. Granted I’m sure the devs genuinely want to improve the game, but it all hinges upon whether they are allowed to.
True, granted so far 343 does seem to be acknowledging that the game is a disaster and needs to be catored more to the playerbase, I feel pretty bad for the Battlefeild 2042 playerbase,
The devs or well Dice and EA have straight up been toxic to the community and playerbase, they removed Rush gamemode even though everyone wanted it to stay, and have just kinda gone into if you don’t like it just leave mode.
They have basically openly admitted they copied CODs specialist mode so they could sell Individual skins to players. And the map Dynamics have become repetitive and people suspect they were planning a battle royal since the maps kinda feel like that’s what they were pushing for but at the last minute turned it into what it is.
At least for the most part 343 is showing or at least trying to make it seem, they are willing to budge on making the game what we want…
However I’m not getting hyped for anything upcoming. I’m gone into I’ll believe it when I see it and pacing myself in terms of what satisfies me in this game.
I do think people who are this mad should just leave
Not because what they say isnt important, but because all they are doing to themselves is getting madder and madder.
they should just go and wait, if the game improves, it improves, if not, it doesn’t
whats the downside?
The fear that certain things could be left unsaid and lost I suspect.
from what I know of forums, issues aren’t just passed up, People WILL bring it up if its a big issue
so yeah I guess the color blue being something you could buy wouldn’t be mentioned a lot because its not that important
but things like servers and btb failing? yeah those would still be talked about
oh that has ben mentioned a TON from what ive seen, especially given how colour application has been set up akin to a pallet swap per armour core, when people were expecting something more akin to Destiny, a non restrictive universal coating you could apply to all, which you do kinda get…(from the store & HCS for now) it stings especially knowing how other FTP games handle colour customisation.
and yeh, servers failing & BTB going bonkers and entering a loading endless loop directly effect the players, so naturally people will mention it.
so yeah, there isn’t much point is getting madder and madder about it
it won’t get fixed in one day, so may as well just step away, go eat a bagel, watch tv, workout, read a book, or somethin that isn’t “lets get mad over a game”
You misunderstand.
the madness isn’t “getting mad over a product” its getting mad over a product that to their eyes, has dropped in quality, making decisions that damage the elements of the game that appealed to them (in the case of the coating system) and when compared to other FTP games, ends up looking like its dropped the ball even further in comparison.
in the case of broken game modes and server downtime, yeh I agree, best to take a walk, read a book, listen to some tunes etc, you’re right.
its just not the first time I have seen this
its the same on the overwatch forums, its been that way for 2 years
Halo isn’t Overwatch, Overwatch is a hero shooter, Halo is an arena shooter, with a legacy of games that only increased an emphasis on customisation, Reach & 4 especially due to the narrative context of those games, Noble 6 was yours to customise the look of, Halo 4 canonised the multiplayer spartan via spartan ops’s fireteams crimson, infinite has also followed 4’s steps of “canonising the multiplayer character.” which is why the restrictions to the system hurt more.
we had all this freedom, and now its restricted excessively, worse than what was assumed in actuality.
that isnt the comparison I was making
I was comparing the forums
aaaah I see, my mistake, I get where you’re coming from now.
The emotional investment shows just how much people have grown up with and love this franchise so much… you have to understand something. Overwatch came out in 2016, while it did get massively popular, it’s still a fairly new game, despite similar games to it being around for a bit…
Halo on the other hand is a franchise that has been around for over 2 decades, that is well over 20 YEARS… and with that kind of longevity comes an expectation that is honestly at this point it’s own Achilles heel since you have new fans claiming they know what is best for Halo that come in every day, and you have the Legacy fans that claim it is keeping the game just like the original Trilogy that is what is best for Halo…
Between 343i’s involvement continuing to give Halo a massive Identity crisis as well as the continuous broken and incomplete state every 343i Halo title has had over the past 10 or so years, well… that would make any longstanding fan quite bitter and vocal about something they’ve been so passionate about for so long…
I can be quite the logical person, and at times I can see where people come from with this argument of “this makes no sense, just stop being so mad, LMAO…”, but the only times I usually get this way is for things I’ve not been as invested in for as long, because I don’t really care about it as much, so in that regard I can sympathize more for the people who have been wanting Halo to be great again, but time and again have to witness it failing due to mediocrity that befalls it on account of chasing trends and trying to please everyone…
To this day, no 343i Halo game has come out on day 1 as feature/content complete with as much to unlock as Reach has, and it’s honestly very disappointing that this trend continues…
