At the release of Halo 5 I attended the midnight release in my full Halo gear and bought the limited edition which came with the warzone REQ bundle and the Fall of Reach downloadable content. The lady behind the counter insisted that I needed to buy a separate Warzone REQ bundle pass to actually be able to game with it. So I listened to the person who does it for a living. Turns out she cheated me out of an extra $25. I waited until after the REQ packs ran their cycle and I thought that possibly I would get them at the end. Nope. Never got them. Now the Arena REQ bundle came out and I didn’t receive one of them for being tricked into purchasing the Warzone bundle twice. At this point I am livid with gamestop and I am never shopping there again. I encourage all of you to do your research before you buy a new game with expansions. At this point I just wish someone would make an effort to make sure people who are selling their games were educated on how to sell them.
I always do my own research before buying anything. Gamestop cashiers are just that sometimes and don’t quite understand how some games and hardware works.
Yeah, I don’t ever trust the store staff to know about these things anywhere. I remember going to EB Games and asking the manager for a copy of MGSV on PS3. He didn’t think it was even on PS3 despite there being a huge pile of them right by the door of the back room.
The cashier at my GameStop didn’t know what Unravel was. Not all of them are Game Savvy people.
Sounds like an uninformed customer
You wouldn’t blame a car salesman for a flat tire would you?

No, but I certainly would blame them if they sold me an extended SATNAV service plan on a car that didn’t even support it.

I would blame the car salesman if the salesman said this brand new car was supposed to have flat tires because its new technology. Then I would blame the salesman even more if he/she sold me an extra four tires and told me that the car wouldnt run right without them because they enhance the experience.
Unfortunately, your problem is trusting gamestop. Nothing but crooks and cons.
Just curious. Did you go back to the retailer to try and get this resolved? That may work.

No for a simple matter that it was a code (which they dont return), and it was past 30 days also. The official notice on the REQ bundles was only one active at a time, so thats why I waited (past the 30 days) to see if it would have been extended. I think I will definitely ask them about it next time I am near that store.

Yeah, be nice about it, explain the situation, also tell them something along the lines of, I really believe in supporting local businesses which is why I purchased this from you vs all of my friends who bought it on line. If the clerk says, to bad so sad, ask if it is possible to speak to a manager. If they say i am the mgr or no, ask them for the number to their executive offices. You may walk out of there happy. Also if you are under 18 it will help to bring along an adult.
GameStop isn’t my favorite company, but to be fair you had a lot of opportunity before and after to learn that you could only have 1. Sorry you’re out 25 bucks, friend.
Aren’t they supposed to be shutting down the stores? Where I live, they already closed a couple of them. Didn’t even had a clearance sale.
From my experience gamestop will try at every turn to leech more cash outta you. I’ll only buy there when me mate is working as he doesn’t bs me like the others. In your case id stop shopping there full stop.
If you redeemed the second code before January 25th then you should still get it, 343i are honoring those who got second codes and redeemed them before this date. It may still be a waste of $25 but at least it’s not a total waste anymore.
Also it sucks to hear that about the GameStop near you, the ones near me have some awesome employees. I spend fifteen minutes talking about Splatoon and Halo 5’s free updates one time.

Do you have anymore info or possibly a source for that? I’d really like to know when or how I will get the packs. I am really grateful for 343i tbh.
This exact same thing happened to me. They should print on the REQ Bundle that only one can used per account, and that you can’t use it if you already have one. I was hoping at the very least that it would transfer into the Arena REQ bundle but no luck there either… Goku if you ever get this resolved please PM me, and i’ll do the same.
I honestly had the same thing plus more and eventually said screw it and got the base copy of h5. I was more disappointed than anything followed by hype of wanting to play the game.

Maybe you just have one with bad employees? The three near my house and the one near my university campus all have excellent staff, and they all know a decent amount about games. A lot of them are gamers themselves. Because it’s a retail sales job, they’re gonna end up with the odd person who doesn’t care at all. But usually there is someone who knows what they’re talking about. The worst thing that happened to me was that someone recommended that FF13 was just as good of a place to jump in to Final Fantasy as any. THAT was bad.
