My idea to make Halo 4 Forge better is to add Custom Map Icons.
Have you entered a Matchmaking Game, and saw that every vote option was the same boring picture of Forge World? Did you forget for a moment which was which, causing your vote to go to waste?
Or how about when you are looking through your Forge Files, and you forget what that map “AAAAAAaaabbb” was? Was it the one with the big pillar or the one with the bridges? Or was it the half-finished one?
Well, my idea is that when you save the map in single player, you take a picture. And that picture is automatically set as the map icon.
The reason it happens everytime you save is so that the picture stays up to date. The reson it’s only in single player is so that you don’t have spartans and explosions ruining the map picture (yes, I know it looks cool when you are inside a plasma grenade explosion, and that it’s Effing hillarious to make all you map icons of a Spartan’s crotch, but it’s better this way. Trust me).
You win the epic genius award of the day.
This is Needed! I have spent so much time scrolling through my endless list of forgeworld maps and not being able to tell which is which. Sure some will say “That’s why you title your map!!” but to be honest, when you frequently make maps they tend to blend together. Not actually of course but in the sense that you lose track of which is which and end up having to spend countless time loading up each individual map until you find that specifc one. Map Screenshot Icons would be absolutely amazing. But aside from the forging part of it, Multiplayer is just as bad. I waste my votes half of the time because I can’t remember each individual title, sure I remember some but most deffinately not all. Map Screenshot Icons would simply help the full array of Halo players, both Forgers and hardcore Multiplayers.
Pretty good idea, actually. Usually Ideas I hear from the community are not very practical. Yes, sometimes they are cool, but Usually they’re nonsensical. I’m glad that this is one such exception. I’d very much like this feature in forge, or even the file browser. Perhaps the player could set this up within forge mode, akin to loadout cameras.
I like how the most practical suggestions normally come from the Forging community. I think that this and custom callouts (namable hills) would have been great additions to reach’s forge.

lol ya agreed espesaly if you have 250 versions of one map (i actually do)
How about just using the initial loadout camera you place in forge as the place the picture is taken from?
