I noticed when I take a screenshot on Anniversary maps, the colors appear to be somewhat faded and lighter. This happened on all Anniversary maps. Compare this image from an Anniversary map to this one from a normal map. The colors in the normal screenshot seem much more vibrant, don’t they? I’m not sure if it’s just the lighting on the maps, but when I view them in game, all the colors look fine. It’s just weird when I download them on the computer. Fortunately, color enhancements made it look like this (you may need to refresh this picture for the enhanced version, you’ll know if it changes).
My guess is because it’s a different environment with different lighting.

Yes. I think it’s a lighting difference, but one that’s imperceptible in-game because…

…your TV is probably doing some color corrections behind your back. Even a slight adjustment can be enough to make Reach more vibrant (while also hiding all traces of the game’s irritating film grain effect).
(A quick tip: If you want to edit the film grain out of a screenshot, GIMP’s Selective Gaussian Blur filter works well.)

But it happens on every Anniversary map. The lighting looks fine in game.
It probably is different. I remember Gemini in halo 2 had a weird thing where the gamma was waaaaaay up, compared to the high charity campaign version. They did it on purpose so it was easier to see people.
