Overall the Flight experience has been pretty darn amazing. Had some great moments, like my Spartans head getting stuck in a wood crate after getting killed on Bazaar, or using the Repulser on two different maps to push other players off the edge of the map without them realizing it, and other then those it’s been a great opportunity to help test out the MP.
However one major game breaking experience has been the issue of the game causing my game to hang, my monitors to flicker black and then return to normal. This has happened as often as twice in the same match and multiple times across a entire game session. Any time it happens it’s a major risk due to it’s caused me to get killed all but one of the times it has happened (thanks to a supportive teammate).
The only other game that this has happened on was MCC, also released by 343 obviously. No other game I’ve played to date (old or new) causes this issue. I play a diverse selection of games too, and only Halo MCC and Infinite have this problem. Monitors turning black only happens when in a match (for Infinite at least), but are fine at the main menu.
It happened both before and after a AMD GPU driver update, so I know it’s not driver related. Rig is entirely water cooled, so I know it’s not a heat related issue. It’s definitely a software related issue.
So is anyone else on high specs PC rigs having this issue? Either AMD or Nvidia? I know it’s a GPU issue due to it affecting all of my monitors. Also causes the Steam overlay to turn and remain black, forcing a Steam reboot to be mandatory.
