Mute people or go into an empty party. Easiest. Fix. Ever.

You guys do know that you can set your Xbox preferences to mute all players right? or that you can select an individual player and mute just that person right? It doesn’t have to be the old fashioned way of muting off ALL of the sounds (voice, music, and gameplay included).
I don’t know about you, but I’d actually prefer to hear the sounds of battle when I’m playing, sans-annoying mic guy.

I’m about 99% certain you misunderstood the OP.
You can avoid the Moaning Lady by starting your own music and then pausing it. I do this so I can have some silence between matches.

If it’s the music from the game, you can mute just the music as well.
Hit the Guide button on the controller to bring up the Xbox menu and scroll over to the “music” section, you can mute “game audio” from there. Though you may need to connect an mp3-player via USB, not sure, never tried it without one.
