Do the Elite models in Halo 4 seem kind of meek? Part of the whole distinction of Elites is their brute physical strength. In Halo: Reach, the Elite lived up to that, being quite larger than the Spartans. But in Halo 4 they look sort of skinnier, especially since they have less armor. The Elites that have bare arms don’t look very muscular at all, lacking any definition. Now you could argue that Elite’s have a different muscle anatomy, but humanoid arms and legs should have the same muscle groupings. The Elites seem like Jackal-scrawny.
Muscle-tone doesn’t necessarily equate to muscle strength, it just means the muscles are, well, toned. Also, they may not be “cut”, but I bet that elite’s arm is bigger than my leg . . . and stronger to boot.

Elites have always been kind of skinny, more of a lean muscular build instead of a meat-head. But they do seem weaker looking in Halo 4.

A weak Elite will always overpower some human weight lifter, but given the intense military training Elite go through as stated in other canon, they do seem rather skinny.
Elites in Halo CE, and 2 specifically are more slender, and elegant than big and beefy like in Halo 3 and Wars.
I preferred the older look. And am glad it’s coming back. If you want Brute strength you want, well, Brutes.
I doubt you want to be hit by an Elite in Halo 4, regardless if he’s built or slim. Tbh, i don’t see it guys, they look intimidating.
Yeah, they need to hit the gym bro. But if you read glasslands (at least the part where I’m at) the elites are having hunger because they only know how to fight.
To me they look more menacing and agile. I personally like all of the new designs. The Jakals look so vicious.
A lot of strong guys applying for the military don’t make the cut.
A lot of strong guys are easily bested by martial artists.
It’s all about the mind. Elites are known for their tactical brilliance (they outnumber us 3 to 1… is an even fight), not their physical strength.
P.s. relevant info
Well there’s the fact that their added armor in past Halos gave them the illusion of appearing larger than what they really were. We’re seeing them sort of stripped down in this Halo. After watching them in action in some of the footage, I got to say, they look pretty damn large and menacing to me anyway. They’re animations look a lot more fluid and agile. Like others have said, muscle size is a marginal factor in making a powerful, deadly warrior.

But they are cut as hell, they need to take some roids

This is actually true… at least for human physiology. This is what I’m studying in college, and I’m not going to get technical, but bigger, buffed up muscles (like those Jersey Shore idiots) tend to be weaker than slimmer, less toned muscles that are exercised.
That being said, I don’t think the Elites look too skinny at all. As someone pointed out, look at the Arbiter without his armor on. He’s cut, but not very big. Don’t judge a book by its cover
They look agile, did you see that one elite combat role on the campaign vid? Smooth.
All of the covanant in halo 4 look terrible i love elites and back when the first render was shown i honesly thought it was a jackal with a sword i was very disapointed. not only that but the grunts, jackals and elites all have the same ugly pasty reptile skin texture it really irks me.

Arbiter was always skinnier than the other Elites, I feel.
The Elites were never covered in muscle. The only one that looked “buff” by our definitions was the Halo Wars Arbiter. You must also remember, this is a splinter faction operating in hard times. They may not be as nourished.

Nah. That is only because of his armor. The arbiter armor is more form fitting whereas standard issue has headdresses and bulkier plates.

Actually, all Halo Wars Elites were buff. But I’m not asking for roided up Elites, just saying that they seem skinnier than I would have imagined.

At first, when I saw the Elite Minors in the March issue of Gameinformer, I was quite disappointed. But now they grew on me and I’m starting to really like them. Also, does the warrior class remind anyone else of the Halo Wars Elites?
