That’s right, stability is till forefront of all issues right now. Without a stable game, gameplay experience is just not at optimal level and even 10 new maps won’t fix that cos people will get frustrated and quit.
I bought the season 1 pass and the cat ears and am satisfied with how my spartans look with that. No more money for 343 from me, especially with the state of the game.
Same. There just isn’t enough to keep people playing.
Pretty sad.
For a $10 pass?
Well, we can thank the higher-ups for their great decisions for this game that only seems to benefit them. That’s a sure way to keep a healthy player base.
The bigger problem here is the Radio silence.
And the disgusting trickery they have been doing with their massive wall of text updates.
Instead of just relaying relevant information about the game, they stuffed it full of nonsense jargin to distract from the fact that the entire news update can be distilled into.
"Season 1 was a horrific failure, Season 2 behind, we’re developing a mode that very VERY few people are excited for. And we’re developing it at the expense of things like Social Features and Forge. "
That is literally all it is, and their doing their best to distract from that fact.
It is disgusting deplorable behavior, when the community has been asking for transparency.
Title: scrap the season 2 battle pass.
Your last paragraph: Release all season 2 content immediately.
I think he means to scrap the battle pass that was intended for May 3rd and release all the content from the battle pass immediately.
I bet there will be even more issues with the new content.
Players may be leaving in waves, but I still find games in seconds when I search various playlists. There a road map and that will continue. The game is a business and it’s about profits. Not how we feel about something. As a community, we’ll always want more.
Fix one thing, creates two new challenges.
I don’t plan on getting any more battle passes in Halo. I will observe what is included first, but most likely it will be a pass for me.
The only gesture of goodwill to fans would be fixing the game.
Very poor choice of words.
I think this fundamentally does not understand the nature of Business to Consumer relations.
A Business isn’t just “about profit”,
Businesses have this thing called a MISSION STATMENT, as is tradition.
Money isn’t the only goal, but a by production of successful development and innovation.
Lets compare,
Here is 343i’s Mission Statment as best I could find it.
“343 Industries is dedicated to making world class sci-fi entertainment experiences in the legendary Halo universe. As part of Xbox Game Studios, we are a team of dedicated artists, engineers, designers, animators, producers, storytellers and dreamers from every walk of life, focused on the shared vision of making the most compelling and beautiful worlds in the industry. Our mission is to inspire heroes and deliver wonder.”
And…
HERE IS BUNGIES.
"First and formost
Bungie is a studio built first and foremost on the strengths and abilities of its people. We use the best technology and the best talent in the industry, assembled together in the best place, to create compelling games, stories and worlds.
With all these pieces in place, Bungie can concentrate on its ultimate goal:
7 Steps to World Domination.
- Start independent gaming software company.
- Dominate Mac platform: Launch assault on Windows platform.
- Announce killer gaming title.
- Acquire strangely addictive Chinese food company.
- Recover Ling Ling’s head.
- Stage bloody coup of new parent company.
- Take over World. Shoot enemies into sun with giant slingshot."
The Diffrence?
Bungie, the progenitor of the Halo Franchise,
Had heart,
It had to confidence to boldly say it “uses the best technology, and the best talent in the industry”,
Which at the end of the day, was likely true.
Its goal was to make good games,
With a greater goal of taking the world by storm.
Which they did,
because of their work, Halo is known across the world.
343i on the other hand?
Its mostly an outright lie, their mission statement is a cooperate platitude,
" we are a team of dedicated artists, engineers, designers, animators, producers, storytellers and dreamers from every walk of life."
The teams who work on their games are outsourced, there is nothing “dedicated” about that.
“focused on the shared vision of making the most compelling and beautiful worlds in the industry.”
Halo 4 AND 5 were remarkably ugly games,
from the weird skin tight body suits, to awful story telling that has no relevance to the plots, to THE PAY2WIN MICROTRANSACTIONS THEY STUFFED INTO HALO 5.
“Our mission is to inspire heroes and deliver wonder.”
Yeah, it delivers wonder alright,
with people wondering HOW THE HELL COULD A COMPANY MESS UP THIS BADLY ON A WINNING TICKET.
The only thing im inspired to do it Pray to the 9 Gods that Microsoft destroys 343i as a company and give it to people more competent.
343i is not delivering a quality experience,
Thus they aren’t making any substantial amount of money on the 5 years of development.
