SCRAP THE CR SYSTEM FOR HALO 4. NO QUESTIONS

SCRAP THE CR SYSTEM FOR HALO 4.
The Credit system, for me this was one of the major reasons why halo reach failed and personally ruined the game for me. It changed the focus of the game rather going for the objective and winning and getting acheivements for armor unlocks and gaining levels. It was ALL about the Credit system it was SO boring and repetitve and rather than using skill to unlock things it was just “who can play the longest” gets to have the rewards. There was NO Incentive to WIN, And Destoryed the Custom game Community.

I remember in Halo 3 working hard and improving as a player to get unlocks and feeling a sense of acheivement when doing so no matter how frustating it was to get to that point (Getting Skulls and Legendary). The Credit System Just SPOONFEEDS players and their is no sense of acheivement, and like I said it was very repetitive.

Bring back the Achievement System for HALO 4, Make it so you have to complete a achievements or get to a certain rank Via 1 - 50 (1 - 100) to get to a certain Unlocks. Please make it so WINNING is the main focus of the game and that will get you rewards and unlocks rather that who plays the longest.

Yes, I do want changes for halo 4 and I want this to be one of them.

Agreed. I did not like buying my armor. It should be awarded as completing achievements and/or challenges.

why not just combine the Cr system with a skill based system?

the Cr system worked great but alienated the competitive players, combining it with a skill based system, something like arena or 1-50 then you have the best of both worlds.

I disagree. I don’t want the coolest armor to be reserved for the top 1% people who get to Lv50. I loved working toward the fun challenges, like discovering and finding the singleplayer skulls in Halo 3.

I also think the cR system should be scrapped. It should NOT represent our ranks. Skill is what does that. Because of cR, playing custom games feels worthless, without value. I missed the days when we would just chill out playing Monster Trucks in Halo 3, and then doing some social/competitive slayer for the LOLs. That’s what I miss most.

Yes, It is so Hard to get customs in reach even from day one! Halo 4 needs to build from this rather than reach.

Agreed. In Halo 3 you had the ‘experience’ system to get a rank in a playlist and had that satisfaction of gaining levels through the Ranking System as well as unlocking armor through achievements and such.

In this case having both is good. Players who win should get WAY MORE credits than those who lose along with xp. Some armors can be bought with credits and some armors can be earned with rank.

Yes, I’d love to get a bunch of people and simply boost for achievements and challenges to ‘earn’ my armor. /sarcasm

Problem is both ways are easy. cR for everyone, or boosting for anything.

In a way, I agree. Credits did pressure people to go for points as opposed to just relax and have fun. Rank didn’t have this problem as it was only about winning and there was no time limit a la challenges. Nor did achievements, as you only spent a tiny fraction of your playtime trying to get them and even then most purposeful achievement-hunting was done in ‘custom’ lobbies.

That said, something along the lines of cR might work if the pushier aspects were removed and it wasn’t shoved in your face all the time.

Since when did winning unlock armor in Halo 3? The xp system had NOTHING to do with unlocking armor.
The hardest MP achievement to unlock armor was the Overkill achievement, and even then it wasn’t that hard.

And how do you figure that Reach destroyed the custom game community? The only thing 3 had that Reach didn’t for customs was a counter of how many games you played.

Using a combined achievement/credit system would be best because then everyone would quit whining.

the credit system did not ruin reach. The lack of tight skill based matchmaking did.

Bump.

Before OP, I have a question! /sarcasm. After OP, I agree.

Bump

I don’t mind the CR system for buying armor, but I do mind that there is no real ranking system. I loved being on Halo 2 or Halo 3 where I could work for a numerical rank and have it somewhat represent how good I was at the game. In reach, the CR system along with it’s ranks just represent how much you play, and takes away from part of the incentive to play the game competitively.
