The scout hog is great for defending the bases. You can get 5-10 splatters a game doing it and it’s just fun to do. I just want to know how everyone feels on this because i see more and more people doing everyday.

Use an ONI scout. Those things are nearly indestructible. I pulled one out once and almost made it to the far armory while being chased by an ultra ghost. Its for that reason that I also use them as a barricade if I’m defending the core by parking it in one of the doorways…
ONI Scout 'hog splatter trains on Dispatch are the best!
Everyone will try to jump the lead 'hog, only to catch the bumper of the 2-3 hogs behind it in the gut.
Nerf the Scout Hog. It should be at least two hits for it to splatter me. : )
Scout hogs sound incredibly stupid on paper, but they can do some damage if used properly.
Having an assualt gunner on onboard helps a lot as well.
Bonus points for stealing the other team’s scout hog rather than use your own! 
Personally, I like the Gungoose method.
Roll into the base with a passenger and throw grenades like they’re going out of style!
I don’t want other people to use this strategy… but when you gotta defend the core just get a friend and a gungoose. Friend positions you while you never stop spamming grenades. While doing this to defend the core, I managed to kill two banshees, a gauss hog, and go on a Killing Frenzy. All while the passenger of a Gungoose.
