Nope. It’s random. I’ve been in plenty of games where we are losing and the other team gets a scorpion or wraith and we get a gungoose or chopper.
If it does turn out to be intentionally designed as truly random, and not influenced by kills and scores in any way at all whatsoever, 343 should quit their jobs for putting a purely RNG win assist mechanic into BTB.
They’ve already done that with the weapon spawns and weapon drops. I don’t know why you think they would be any more competent with vehicles.
Weapon spawns and ordinance being randomly located isn’t a big issue. Honestly not sure why 343 even went back to it at all after the Halo 4 backlash, but unlike weapon drops, you can’t steal tanks once someone gets it. You can hijack air vehicles, but if the player is any good, they’ll never get low enough to let you. Power weapons typically don’t last long enough to get a kill with all the ammo. You can milk heavy vehicles as long as you’re able to hold it. I can get 20 kills with a Scorpion or Wasp
Obviously the degree of impact is different, which is why the random vehicle spawns are so much worse.
We don’t need random weapon drops. We don’t need random vehicle drops. 343 just likes to come up with solutions to problems that didn’t exist. And then they end up creating actual problems because they implement it so poorly.
343 has never created solutions to anything. 343 is the problem with these infamous Halo games. There are a few things here and there that might appeal to a niche group of people, but the large majority of decisions are always disliked

Yeah, it’s random for sure. There are lots of things that are random in this game. It’s simply a sign that the game is unfinished.

I don’t understand why they changed vehicle BTB spawning so much.
Like, when they talked about pelican drops bringing in vehicles pre-release, I was pumped! I imagined Valhalla and all those times where vehicles spawn back at our base but no one realizes it. This seemed like a solution to that
I assumed the pelican drops would just be a visual indicator that vehicles were coming in. A big flying “HEY YOU, GET YOUR BUM OFF SPAWN AND COME GRAB THE WRAITH!”.

Not gonna lie, it was still a fun game but that is just me finding the humor in the situation. I can imagine some people did not find the humor in it became they were playing to win.
Yup. It’s basically BTB Fiesta. It’s the equivalent of the other team getting rockets and swords while you get plasma pistol and ravager.
I liked back in the day when BOTH bases get tanks as soon as the match starts + a cooldown that starts when a tank is destroyed. Respawning turrets would be nice, too.

Enemy team is given two tanks and a wraith, while they’re already winning.
I do have to say that there have been instances where the enemy team has gotten a Scorpion and a Wraith and my team clearly weren’t in the lead and we got nothing.
On the other hand though, it is a nice feeling to steal those vehicles when they appear ![]()
Overall I’m happy that the heavier vehicles are appearing more often, but there does need a bit of tweaking when it comes to the balancing of who gets what.
I actually think BTB Super Fiesta would be better than normal BTB, because we would at least have heavy weapons and heavy vehicles able to spawn on the pads at base, like OG BTB, and it would be equally randomly unbalanced, instead of just randomly one sided unbalanced the entire match

I hate the vehicle drop system.
Sure, it makes the matches “interesting” but at the same time, it has the same fundamental problem as H4’s item dropping system, where you are at the mercy of the enemy randomly having something good or nah, no matter how well you control the map.
The Vehicle drop and Power weapon drop are both interesting, but don’t belong in matchmade BTB. If you had them in a BR mode then yea, sure it makes total sense, but not in BTB, not in a Halo game.
What we need is equal vehicle spawns, equal racks, static power weapon spawns. Call it BTB classic or something, then you can have your other BTB modes with all that fancy stuff.
I mean they could have had this as an added layer to the existing BTB model. Seriously what was wrong with both teams starting the round with a Banshee, a Tank,/Wraith, and some lighter vehicles.
Also why did they get rid of the Spartan Laser.
This whole put a new spin on things always end up with them screwing up a not broken system.
