When playing the Beta, I noticed that if you hit Select to see the Scoreboard while playing, it will stay on screen until you select it again (often blocking the action unintentially). I personally think the button press should be context sensitive (like GoW). It should only show the Scoreboard as long as I press the button. Once I let go, it should go away. I think that’d work better.
Also, showing Challenges on the screen as well would be incredibly beneficial. I don’t know how many times I was playing something and wanted to see what active challenges I had, only to have to wait for the current game to end to be able to see them again.
I think you can use it to scroll through and select players (to mute, report, chat, etc.). Not sure though cuz I never tried. That would be a good reason for the toggle rather than the button hold.

I tried and didn’t get that to work during the first part of the beta. They’ll probably look to fix that.
The hold to show setting was in there but it was buggy af. It would jitter and had some indexing collisions with other text rendered on the death screen.

If it’s possible to mute from the score screen, it isn’t easy.
I pretty much AFK’d a whole match trying to figure out how to mute was turned up so high I could hear breathing and keyboard tapping.
It would be nice to just select the noisey player and hit X to mute. I’m pretty sure it was that easy in the old games.
As has been established in the thread, you can change it to press & hold in the settings.
The bigger issue is definitely that you can’t scroll through the player list with the right stick to mute players. It was a total nightmare in the flight.
I’m kind of confused why 343 has never just started with a feature-complete version of the Reach UI and used it as a starting point to improve. Rather than starting fresh with each game and pioneering new ways to mess up each time.
