Instead of K/D ratio, why don’t we just measure ourselves in score to death ratio? The score system was implemented to reward players for working with their team. Your score is essentially a way of measuring how much your contributed right? So if your score is 100, your contribution is equal to that of ten kills. However, your 100 points did not have to have come with 10 kills, it could have been five kills and 10 assists. If you take your score, divide that by 10, then divide your new score by deaths, you would get your score to death ratio. I realize that this is flawed in many ways, and someone probably thought of this before me, but I wanted to share this idea.
You wouldn’t divide the deaths by 10…
This is not a bad idea. The problem is you would get very large numbers. Like if I had 20 kills and 10 assists with 5 deaths the S/D ratio would be 50. That’s kind of weird but I like the idea.
I still think k/d is the best way to measure success but only on slayer game modes. Obviously it shows how many kills you got for your team and how many deaths you gave up to the other team all in one number.
20*10=200
10*5=50
200+50=250
250/10=25
25/5=5
You’re S/D ratio would be five, not 50.
> You wouldn’t divide the deaths by 10…
You’re right, you wouldn’t do anything with the deaths, sorry.
why not measure us on true skill based on w/l and with no join in progress o wait that would make too much sense just like your suggestion therefore it wont happen

I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you are trying to say.

W/L,Win/Loose,just like it was in Halo 3 basically

Once you get the text “Flyin’ High +5” on your screen when playing Halo, you’ll know why S/D doesn’t work.

True, but how many times can you get Flyin High, it only works in Ragnarok right?
You do know there is a kill+assist/death ratio right?
Dumb idea and S/D - K/D does not mean a thing in this game anyways.
The W/L ratio is the most important skill indicator.
OT: Your suggestion reminds me of Black ops’ score per minute ranking system. Although, I would still rather stick with the K/D ratio.
You mentioned team play, the W/L ratio compliments teamwork.

What about the games that you JIP and 20seconds its over and you lose? Or when you get booted for accidently killing a team mate? Or your team is terrible and wont push for the win because they are boosting and stat padding?
TRUE SKILL!!!
[ (Win/loss x 2) + k/d + ka/d + assists/death ] /4 = a system that places higher value on people that win, earn plenty of assist and don’t die allot.
This number is hard to stat pad because it favors winning and assist… So only playing as a team, keeping eachother alive, getting assist and kills together boosts this number. Which is a good thing.
Why are you dividing this by 4?
Wow, that system is way better than mine.
> TRUE SKILL!!!
Don’t kid yourself dude. Truskill was never true skill as any noob with a new account and willing friends could easily boost to general. I’m still convinced that the Truskill system was set up by Microsoft purely so that idiots would pay them more dough for alternate accounts - money, money, money!
> Why are you dividing this by 4?
To give assist and wins more emphasis
My stats for example, mine would be
[(2.06 x2) + 1.62 + 2.21 + .58] /4
(4.12 + 4.41) / 4 = 2.13
The number tends to fall between win/loss and ka/d
