And with those words, I will never touch forge test CTF again.
Just got royally -Yoink- blocked TWICE IN THE SAME CTF GAME on Simplex. Absolutely ridiculous.

Your flag has to be at base to score, that’s the way CTF should be.

Makes it better.
Flag jousting happens more often now, and it fun.
You know that alot of the community demanded/asked for that PAST feature back in the game, right?
It requires more teamwork, your team now has to hunt their flag carrier while you have to survive.
Also prevents fast games on these smaller maps.
its also called simplex is a -Yoink- map
Look whose complaining now…
Welcome to how Halo CTF should be played.
> its also called simplex is a Yoink! map
Right, because it can be terrible AND adopted by MLG. I happen to really like it, it’s the kind of small arena that the game lacked a good number of at launch. As much as I like it, though, It’s just your average community-made MLG map. No one’s really trying to push the bounds of what players can do in a small arena map, and it’s not really very memorable because of this.
If I manage to get the flag all the way back to our base (before that stupid 15 sec timer resets), I deserve that flag score.
When I managed to get it, and read that text, I was absolutely dumbfounded. I must’ve stood in awe of what I was being told for like 5 seconds.
Then the game ended.

I’m not that surprised, seeing as how a lot of the community is really -Yoinking!- stupid.

I’m guessing you’re the same guy who believes touch returns are stupid.
Hasn’t it been like since forever? With the exception of 4.

It’s all about you in a team based game… no wonder Halo has degenerated into the steamy pile of it’s current state. Really 343 this is the type of player that your game appeals to, great job.

I dont play sports so this statement means nothing to me.

When I say I was the only one doing anything? Where did I imply that I had to carry the team at all?
I got the flag, and I was gonna score. I never complained about my teammates (thought they were that good anyway).
With the size of the maps that have CTF in the playlist (Garrotte and Simplex), we thought Classic Settings (flag at home to score) works best. It really creates a tense stalemate where teammates have to decide whether to help defend or attempt to get their flag back.
Also, don’t forget that you can return the flags in this playlist. It’s a 3 second return. Just sit on the flag to return it.

That’s how CTF should always play, it adds an element of team strategy. I’m wondering if they changed this setting universally, because it would make me enjoy CTF a lot more, and make it a lot less of a random lemming rush.
I once played a game of CTF on Adrift where both teams had scored twice before a single kill was made, all thanks to the ability to turn in the enemy’s flag while yours is gone.
Also, most of us think that requiring the flag to be at home is a better setting, but come on, guys. Don’t flame the OP.

When I say “touch” return I mean the flag in Halo. I’m quite surprised you didn’t catch on to that. Was your first Halo game Halo 4 or something? LOL.

Well, I dare you you thought wrong, sir. As I said, I wont be touching any CTF game with the current settings.

Sounds broken to me. No wonder we couldnt score all game.
As is the way it should be. Did they make it touch returns now too?hope so

I like the ‘I got the flag to my base I deserve a flag score’, because it really describes where this franchise has headed. It’s now all about catering to the casuals and everybodies a winner. I’ll be playing H3 from now on, let me know if they get rid of loadouts, AA and the rest of the bs that goes along with this game.
This game deserves it’s population, I’m out.

I assumed you were making an analogy to football, or some other sport. Like I said, not my area of expertise.
And no, Halo 3 was my first Halo.
