I’m sure some of you guys do know, but for those who don’t. Google search the names of some of the armors. The names appear to be based on actual historical and mythological people. It’s quite a bit of fun. It also might make you think of the armor you wear as being more then just armor but the physical manifestation of a hero of old that you wished you could be. You know instead of just trying to pick only the coolest looking armors to wear. That bland piece of armor you idly cast aside could very well be named after an ancient hero of greece or viking mythology.
this actually really intrigues me, and I’m now going to do that, there are exceptions like Nightfall and Helljumper though so that’s a shame

actually there is a lot more than you’d think, those were just off the top of my head, going through there is a lot of them that won’t work, but the fact that some can be used that way is unique
EVA variants are named after famous astronauts.

almost everything in halo comes from something John-117 comes from the bible and the flood and covernant too
Anubus a god of the underworld and its veriants are all gods from Egypt as well

Mjolnir is named after Thors hammer, quite fitting. They have taken from many mythologies.

I love reading the descriptions of the Armor sets. Such a little thing but it really fleshes out the universe. Half the time im picking the armor because the i like the story behind the armor.

Yeah, I’ve always liked the names they have had for almost everything in Halo. The symbolism helps drive their world.
