Classic mode
Take a look at the 3.48 mark of this video.Distant scenery past the main two trees is obviously mucked up- you can’t miss it. This is now the second time iv’e seen such a thing and it’s certainly not like that in the original. It’s very much a bad job they have done at drawing certain far off polygons and being that there is a lot of that obviously, you lot should also be worried
I could play the new version of course but then isn’t the argument always on these forums that i can always play the classic mode
So then 343, can you for once actually comment on the state of this, oh and the see through shotgun issue that seems to slipped undetected by any of your testers
I’ll be the first on here to say sorry for talking out of my bum if this proves untrue but 343’s slience here is starting annoy me
Yes, in the video, the far-away graphics in the Halo CE version were still in their 2001 glitched state. But once the game switched to Anniversary mode, the graphics were fine. I’m just assuming that they didn’t alter the original game at all, and only fixed glitches like such in the Anniversary mode.

Actually the original xbox 1 version doesn’t glitch at all like this and that’s why it’s so disapointing. I’ll just have to play the original one instead when i want my fix. Very odd if they have missed this though because those big black shapes past the trees really couldn’t be more obvious es[ecially to the devs that will understand why they were fogged out in the first place
Oh and no offence but i’m starting to think people can’t read on these forums or just read far too fast to take all of someone’s post in
There’s a canonical reason the shotgun goes through Master Chief’s visor?
Or just an excuse for not adjusting the animation because they “didn’t want to mess with the Halo code, because then, the magic of the shotgun going through Master Chief’s visor will be lost… oh wait, that wasn’t in CE anyway. Well we don’t feel like fixing it. Nor do we feel like fixing the floating AR magazine animation glitch.”

Yeah basically it seems unless it turns out all a bad dream. Still as 343 has stated already, it’s all for the fans. Yeah thanks 343
> Can someone explain the shotgun glitch to me? I guess I’m out of the loop…
While at it’s highest point of recoil animation, the back end of the gun gets too close to a point that then reveals the model’s hollow self- the blank default single background colour is shown over the part that you can see into. It’s brief enough that you can miss it but is something very hard to just ignore once you see it. 343 needs better testers i say
It’s likely just because of the model change. I’m thinking 343 hopes we won’t notice. Hey but still, you can always cover up this little corner of the screen if you find it distracting, or better still just play classic mode which has even better gfx glitches

Halo Anniversary is just messup piled on messup. Definitely not the labor of love and love letter to the fans that they claimed it was going to be.
Eh, in the original you can see the scenery look as though it’s loading in or something. Anniversary’s looks better. Regarding the Shotgun, yeah, that’s unfortunate; but it’s not too obvious. People wouldn’t be asking about it, otherwise.

nah it does not do that in the original. Watch videos of the original or just play it again if you can and you wont see these graphic errors

He’s saying the background doesn’t do that in the original, which it doesn’t.
I’m pointing out the issue that occurs at 3:49, in which the backdrop messes up whilst he looks around. Not really seeing the problems when he switches to Anniversary mode, myself.
> Eh, in the original you can see the scenery look as though it’s loading in or something.
…What? In the absolute strictest sense, there are a few spots and ways you can make things pop, but you have to be really trying hard to break it. Under normal circumstances, as far as I know there’s no popping whatsoever aside from:
1-Grass sprites on the ground.
2-Staggered model popping for bipeds (which isn’t really that harsh in Halo 1’s case, at least not compared to the similar crap that the other Halos do).
You could argue that the game also has a draw distance, but it’s a huge draw distance, and not really relevant with the distances that you can view scenery from in Halo 1’s campaign.

Right, we know that it doesn’t show up in Anniversary mode. Our point is that it doesn’t show up in actual Halo 1, either, only in Anniversary’s “Classic mode”. That is, when they developed CEA, they introduced a new graphical glitch to the classic graphics.

Yes Halo1 on the original xbox is actually quite remarkable for having very little bad to talk of regards to problems like this new version brings. Most games have these issues and probably more so with todays games but Halo1 was as rock solid as you could get
