Scenerio: what if Support returns

I know it probably won’t happen anytime soon (or at all), but lets say 343 took the same route as they did with MCC and created a Skeleton crew to support H5 again. Just thought of this on the fly today and wanted to share it. (note: sort of thought about it as if they didn’t care about the paying with actual money bit)

  • Req system revamp
    • idea 1: reduce packs’ req point values by 80% (special packs are 90% off) & special packs return
      • warzone vehicle req pack
      • mechanized mayhem req pack
      • mythic warzone pack
      • classic helmet req pack
    • idea 2: take out card system and have it to where you can only use power weapons or vehicles of a specific rarity a # of times per game (30 commons, 20 uncommons, 10-15 rares, 5 ultra-rares, 1-2 legendaries, 1 mythic). Packs turn into the following packs; cosmetic pack (5k points, 3-8 items), power pack (20k points, 3-6 items), and loadout pack (10k, 4-8 items), with no duplicates as normal.
    • XP Boost packs return (reduced to 5k - 10k points if values are reduced)
  • Customization
    • Separate armor parts; shoulders, chest, forearms, knees, and legs.
      • Idea 1: earning the armor set req card unlocks the whole set
      • Idea 2, armor set req card acts like a power weapon/vehicle certification, where you can now buy parts in a store (depends on rarity and piece. And no not making that now)
  • Matchmaking
    • Double xp boost on all games
      • This includes MWZFF (meaning 4x xp)
    • Unavailable playlists return. Don’t lump them in
    • MCC Playlist creator

i too had some ideas of how they can rework halo 5, for instance the req pack, just get rid of them. i think they should make it so we can buy the weapons, armor, and vehicles we want with req points directly instead of this loot box rng system or anything else more convoluted than just straight up getting exactly what we want. i agree warzone should limit reqs depending on rarity. they should definitely make it so we have halo 4s custom options again in 5. i think warzone and arena should have a map/mode voter, im sick of quick play just being slayer on the same 3 maps.

i also had some ideas for single player like bring in req weapons and vehicles to campaign, character selector even though it wont change game play i just like the personalized huds they each have, and a single player firefight mode with battle arena’s from the campaign for maps like parts of the argent moon, sanghelios, and genesis.

I agree 100% with all of your ideas. Especially the single player ones. I would also add mod support into this when the PC version INEVITABLY comes. And of course CAMPAIGN THEATER.
Now, the REQ points being used for directly buying armors, weapons, vehicles, etc. would also be a great idea. I just really want the Achilles armor set to be obtainable again, even if it ends up costing 1,000,000 RP

I additionally have proposed other ideas:

  • All 8 playable Spartans from the Campaign should also be unlockable and playable in multiplayer (Arena, Warzone, and Custom Games), complete with their exact HUDs, armors, and voices. This also means that you can select that specific character to show on your player profile instead of your own multiplayer Spartan. Their armors will be altered if you are playing in team-based modes to support team colors, although they will sport slightly different coatings/liveries to distinguish from the regular multiplayer-usable of their respective armors (i.e. Osiris will still have their unique bodysuits)
  • Enemies and allies from both the Campaign and Warzone usable in Forge and Custom Games
  • The ability to turn skulls on in Custom Games (also fix the energy shield down beeping sound still playing even if the Black Eye skull is on)

Ideas for new additional content (unlikely but still possible):

  • Mark VI MOD (Chief’s in-game armor) as a wearable armor set, complete with an additional damaged visor variant for the helmet, so that the NOBLE body armor can be made obsolete
  • Halo 4 armor sets like Prefect, ODST GEN2, Mark V, and Orbital
  • The rest of the Reach helmets
  • New achievements (mainly to cover the brand new content, but also for already-existing content - i.e. complete all Blue Team missions as Fred)
  • Reach Grenade Launcher’s cut Advanced REQ variant
