After the ending to Halo 4, I will admit, I cried like a little girl.In all honesty I’d rather not talk about it, but I had this thought. Now, when I decided to run through the cut scenes again (Youtube, Woo!), during Halsey’s interrogation, I noticed he said “difficulty with socialization”, which brings me to this idea. Since he is now, back on earth,I would expect a scene in Halo 5 to have John speaking with Halsey (kinda like a reunion). While they talk, they speak of Johns previous adventures (if you wanna call them that), and after the pleasantries, Halsey mentions Cortana and that REALLY get Johns attention (basically pressing his buttons and things escalate, instead of a social encounter like Halsey originally wanted to try). She starts pushing his tolerance which seems to fall out almost instantly, especially when she says something like “She was just a machine, a projection, why cling to something that just as expendable as any soldier”. In turn, smashes his fist into a table or locker, leaving an indication that she needs to leave, now. Afterwords, when she leaves him (fear clearly shown on her face), he thinks of Miranda, Captain Keys, and Johnson, and says something like “Some soldiers are expendable, most can be replaced within a day, but there are those that…you just can’t replace…” and looks at Cortanas chip he has on a chain around his neck…Annnd cue next scene and next mission of Act 1…Any comments?
I decided to think of the last post as the first scene and set as the beginning of the first mission. Now the second scene for the next mission. I imagined him, along with Palmer and a group of Spartan-IVs, riding a Pelican to a dropzone in which he and his team were tasked to search and recover any usable technology from fallen wreckage of the previous battle (Mantle’s Approach). The Chief and Palmer search one area while the others search in a different area, in order to shorten the search time. While walking through the wreckage, Chief is blind-sided by a battered Promethean Knight and slams into a section of the destroyed ship, and before Palmer can help, loosened wreckage falls on her immobilizing her. Within that instant Chief had already smashed in the Prometheans helmet, leaving a leaving a grenade indented into it and moved out of range of the explosion. After this rather entertaining but short fight, Chief gets the wreckage of Palmer only to find her unconscious and her left leg and another encounter with Knights except this time, in numbers. While Chief is forced to hold his position until the other team arrives, he ends up having to fight off more than just a few Knights but what will be later in the game called, a Promethian Guardian. After the scrap with the Guardian, the team (no surprise) show up a little later than expected, and they found an injured Palmer and a Spartan-II glaring at the remains of the Guardian in which one of the Spartans commented , “This is scariest damn thing I have ever seen”. While Palmers team got her on the evac Pelican, Chief walked a few feet, looked down, and saw something he couldn’t believe. Cortanas chip. He knelt down and picked up the chip saying, "How…I saw you d-’ and one of the Spartans calls out, “Chief, lets go!”. He clenched the chip in his fist and boarded the Pelican and caught himself looking back at the wreckage and thought, “This isn’t over…somethings coming…”. Then scene fades out and that ends the second level.
I’ll have a third mission idea tomorrow maybe.
