Can somebody explain to me how the scattershot works. It seems it has line, half the range the shotgun does. Why ever choose it over the shotgun?
Try using the smartscope. It has better range than the shotgun.
But isn’t it a two shot kill?
Shoot the ground and the pellets will track the enemy for you.
It does have less instant kill potential than the shotgun, but in return it has A) much greater range (especially while smart scoped) and B)hardlight rounds that, like most hardlight ammo in Halo 5, will track the enemy. Its surprisingly effective in the indirect fire role; charge an armory in Warzone and bounce glowing death around the inside.
I think it’s meant as a campy-around-the-corner shotgun.

I will try this. Thanks.
Cool. Thanks for the answers. I’ll try to adjust a little. It was just weird today. It seems like it can’t one shot at as close a range as the shotgun. Like, you have to be hugging them to get that one shot kill. I kept shooting at shotgun range and getting frustrated when they didn’t die. Just seemed weak, that’s all.
There’s no point in choosing it over a regular shotgun. It’s the same rarity as the Blaze of Glory(possibly same req level but I can’t remember off the top of my head) but the Blaze of Glory is infinitely better. It has the same ammunition and fires farther and hits harder than a regular shotgun. Then there’s the reload on it which is amazing. The scattershot is a very inconsistent weapon. Sometimes you’ll get kills at point blank range and other times you’ll be gunned down by an AR before you can fire off your second point blank shot. If you’re trying to grind kills with it, camp. Sit around a door just far enough that you don’t die and wait. This works best in regular Warzone in less travelled bases(the side bases). That’s because if(or rather when) the first shot doesn’t get you a kill you have less of a chance of a teammate picking up the kill. Plus if a marine gets the kill and you shot last you get a kill for the weapon you shot the enemy with.
