So I hear they’re nerfing the ScatterShot and Needler. NOOO!!! they looked awesome in the beta and seemed to be exactly adequately more powerful than spawning weapons. Looks like I will be choosing Power Ups then.
First I’ve heard of this.
Mind providing a source?
You can’t exactly nerf something that hasn’t gone gold yet.
Maybe they needed to be nerfed. Feedback from the people playing the Beta at all the trade shows probably influenced their decision. I don’t see a problem.

Bravo vid- Sketchy I know but it is Bravo. Can’t remember where I heard about the Scattershot nerf but I think it might have come direct from FO.

That’s nonsense. Tweaking a weapon to make it weaker is called “nerfing,” it does not require the game to be finalized first.

Yeah im fine with them doing this
needler shouldn’t be nerfed.
Fear the pink mist!

Well Power weapons should be… well…powerful. Or at least that is my take on it. Choosing a power up has no real draw backs they just make you more powerful for a set amount of time. If you choose a power weapon you lose a weapon you already carry and you risk others picking up your weapon if you die and using it against you. So there has to be benefits to pick one up.
I’ve seen Bungie on several occasions listening to beta feedback nerf weapons to the detriment of the final release game. Off the top of my head: The Plasma launcher, the Plasma Repeater, Halo 3s Trip Mine. I just hope 343 don’t make the same mistake.

Yeah I was really sad when I found out that the PR and the P. launcher were nerfed.
I hope they don’t nerf the needler to tha P. launcher status. And I also hope that they buff the light rifle.

Oh man the tracking ability of the Plasma Launcher in the Reach: Beta was legit. That thing would follow all around Sword Base, ducking and weaving through corners and small spaces.
I dunno… From what I’ve gathered, the Needler seems to have been intended as a power weapon, yet almost nobody ever really used it from what I’ve seen.
