The scattershot is almost a exact replica of the Flak Cannon from Unreal Tournament 3.
Here is my proof because I know I’m gonna get “OHH MAN THE SCATTERSHOT IS ORIGINAL”

343 took that Idea an is using it as there own. I’m shocked :/
Completely ripped the idea from Unreal an it even has the same color of fire an bounces off walls an disenegrates on death. COMPLETE AN UTTER RIPP THAT IS PORTRAYED FOR THERE OWN.
Sure you can say its similar but similar usually emphasizes a difference but there is no difference its the same GUN in every aspect except the shape but works the same.
I thought/noticed it’s similarities with the beast that is Unreal’s Flak Cannon. I love that gun so I’m glad there will be a similar weapon in Halo, The first Unreal Tournament was the first FPS I ever played at the age of 6 haha! I’ve spent many years playing that game so I welcome such weapon to the game.
Unreal is an amazing game, one which deserves a lot of credit, so taking some ideas from it is also very much welcomed, I look forward to using the Scattershot!
Something to note, the Flak cannon has two fire modes, The standard Flak burst then the combined explosive shot, the Scattershot only has one fire mode, although I’ve always loved the two fire modes in Unreal, so maybe it’d be cool with an alternative fire mode.
When people say its “original”, they mean original to the Halo Franchise. And I doubt 343 ripped it out of Unreal Tourny, its probably just a coincidence. Is it really that big of a surprise that Shotguns in 2 games act similar?

You doubt? Its right in front of you in fact they couldn’t even change the color of the fire or the idea that it bounces off walls it even disengrates on Death…
> > Yup, Unreal is great, why not borrow some ideas from it? Every game you’ve played has borrowed ideas from other things.
>
> Its almost a exact replica its not as if it is similar it is almost the same exact GUN.
It lacks the alternate fire that the Flak cannon has, It’s burst isn’t nearly as wide, and the range of the weapon’s burst isn’t anywhere near that of the Flak cannon, not to mention the projectile “bounce” isn’t anything like the Flak Cannon either.

What are you talking about the Flak Cannon also bounced off walls? Even if you do it purposely it still does.

It sounds like you just want to incite the community. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s against the rules.
OT: Yeah, it certainly looks like the Scattershot was inspired by that gun.

I can see your issues with it them coming across as if they’re copying the weapon but I really do not think it will function the same as the Flak cannon, you can have long range battles with the Flak cannon, you also have the alternate fire that acts as an “arced” explosive.

I said the Flak cannon bounced off the walls, but it was MUCH higher than what the scattershot does, don’t try to make it look like I don’t know what I’m talking about when it comes to Unreal, because I have played that game extensively from the age of 6.
