There was this part from halo 3 in floodgate… a marine is suicidal after seeing his squad being infected. It shook me to the bone.
I don’t think Halo has any parts that I would consider scary. It has its “WTF” moments and sad moments, and I certainly feel for the marine in the clip, but nothing has happened I would consider scary. Unless you count the odd unintentional AI jumpscare.
While not really all that scary, I’d have to say that it would be when the Flood first show up in CE.

This. First time ever seeing The Flood, combined with the music…tense to say the least.
WasabiPeanut721, I’ve always killed that marine. Pretended I put him out of his misery.
I think the first time I saw the Flood in Halo 2 at the age of seven or eight.

Yeah killing him was probably the best choice from a moral perspective.
The scariest part of Halo was opening that door on the Pillar of Autumn and that screaming Elite was in our face when we had no gun.
The terminal with Keyes’ inner monologue during Flood conversion.

Come on man, I was 10, that violin and hearing BLAAAAAAAARGH WOPAGAH
Floods first appearance, CPT Keys flood fate or the Keys lvl. Lesser scare was seeing Fate of the Maw, H1 an Boarding during Truth an Reconciliation. Seeing Invisible elites unexpectedly nearby about to off you, or walking around corners into suicide grunts was a good scare or jolt back in the past.
Not scary really, but stuff that makes me panic is anything with the flood infection forms, and definitely turning around and seeing a Brute Chieftain just a few feet away from you charging.

When I was younger, I would nearly crap myself when I would see the Elite Ultra charging me with the energy sword.
Lol that always makes my crack up

It definitely scared me, I think I was 12 at the time. Went from a cool game where I was killing aliens to a horror game where I was running from zombies lol.
First Mission when you just woke up and you have to go toward the Bridges. You try to go through the Second Door and BOOOOOM!! everything explodes and your wake up buddy dies. That made me jump.
Cortana mission always scared me growing up plus the flood doesn’t help at all. Just getting lost in a maze of -Yoink!- doors doesn’t trigger happy thoughts

Whenever the gravemind messed with the screen I always felt slightly sick, probably because I had headphones and my controller had a straight-up seizure.
The first time I saw the flood in CE.

It’s pronounced AAAWUBADUGH.
The Flood’s introduction when I was 7 as a kid playing was pretty scary. Again in Halo 2 as well few jump scares here and there when they would spawn. Since then though, nothing scary man. We’ve become desensitized.
