Let’s be real here I don’t think any American wants to be put in a game with a player from Mexico or Australia because these players make the connection cause suicidal thoughts.
I never had that problem, perhaps its on your end?
This seems a pretty discriminatory thing to say, but MM does a good job of putting you with people who have good connections. If someone from Mexico or Australia have a good connection, then there’s no issue.
I really don’t think it’s anything you’ll have to worry about unless you only play at 5am on a Tuesday and then you’ll be matched up with people from different countries because everyone in your country is sleeping.
Not to mention Xbox One has dedicated servers for every game, so there won’t be a player hosting like in previous Halo instalments. This should remove the problem entirely.

This is a fair point.
Halo 3’s number one flaw was latency and host advantage. Once the game has to find people who are your skill level, it may not consider ping and distance between the players. The “Prefer good connection” option was a joke also.
It is quite simple just hit the mute button and join a lobby with enough players coming with you so you don’t have them on your team.
Is this really that much of a concern? I remember quite well that the global map display showed people primarily in the US, Canada, and UK playing, and that was about it. We always joked about that one blip in South Africa.
Wow… that’s pretty racy. The best part of using the internet is interacting with people across the globe. Also, dedicated servers, dude.
Dedicated servers = no host servers. so if there’s lag, it’s likely going to be your connection to the server and not anyone else per say
You’re a foreingner to any other country. Yes connection degrades over distance…
Dedicated Servers = No Xenophobia
As a “foreigner” myself, that’s a pretty scary thing to hear. I didn’t realize that Halo was supposed is best enjoyed with Americans only. I personally have a super fast connection, and most of my friends do too. This makes me think it has little to do with where where you are from, but how good a connection you can afford, respective of what’s available in your area. After all, plenty of Americans have crap connections too.
