"Scarabs / Liches ships"

so yeah we saw those in Halo 4 do you think we will see more of those ships or would you rather want to have a Halo3 scarab verision ? to be honest the ships felt like it was an upgrade from the halo2 scarab when you boarded it and all.

So yeah do you like normal scarabs or this type more ?

ps cant remember the name. haha

I’d rather fight a Harvester, Scarabs and Lichs are incredibly boring to fight

> I’d rather fight a Harvester, Scarabs and Lichs are incredibly boring to fight

True but their design is kinda intressting since they are new to the game world of Halo i think they will be the new phantom dropship .

> I’d rather fight a Harvester, Scarabs and Lichs are incredibly boring to fight

Fighting a harvester wouldn’t make sense since they’re not made for combat but purely for excavation. Not to mention they are also very rare.

“Scarab ship”?

Do you mean Lich? Because a Lich is just a Covenant dropship. Like a Phantom, only bigger. No worms inside.

The Chopper was made to be a farming tool for us, but the Brutes outfitted them for combat, same thing could happen to a Harvester to make them more combat viable

yes i just forgot the name x)

Can’t say I can blame you for that, it’s not like they were memorable. You fought 1 in the Campaign, and all it did was hover in place. Then there was one in the last episode of SpOps, which again was scripted and boring.

There were lot’s of them in the cutscene before the escape of requiem but still yeah.

Lich yes (way too scripted), Scarab no (in Halo 3 at least). And, in what way will a Harvester be different from a Scarab gameplay wise? Both would play pretty similar.

Any way, I am in favor of a new huge, boardable enemy vehicle. It’s the Xbox One and it should allow for some awesome things. I’d be really disappointed if the scale doesn’t rise tenfold from Halo 4 (which focused more on small shootouts, with vehicle scenes being very very linear).

Fighting that Pheonix (how I call it) from the teaser could be fun, but canonically it should rip us a new yoinkhole without even trying very hard. Unless it’s not even a combat AI, which would explain why John just stands idly by and stares at it as if he won’t get a new Yoinkhole torn out for him.

Are you aware that you can edit your thread title? This might be a good time to change it to “Scarabs and Liches” or whatever, since the title is confusing.

sure thing i just didn’t think of it.

I preferred the Scarab battles in Halo 3 compared to the Lich fights in Halo 4 since the Scarab battles weren’t as scripted.

My favourite one was probably using the Hornets/Gauss/Scorpion against the two Scarabs that dropped onto the Ark - awesome gameplay moment

They could easily have both Scarabs and Lichs make an appearance in Halo Xbox One though. That would be good.

So were Scarabs and Locusts…we still fought them.

And Choppers.
EDIT: Well, they were farming equipment.

Harvesters.

YES!

Imagine how terrifyingly awesome that would be!

I actually like scarabs because of the dynamic the legs had. I don’t think a harvester would be any different than a giant scarab no?

The Lich sort of removed the primary mechanic that made Scarabs interesting. It pretty much had to be scripted because its more effective to just shoot it out of the air. The AI would have to be really retarted to actually give you chances to board.

Dropships with legs and a cannon that can melt from solid rock?

> Dropships with legs and a cannon that can melt from solid rock?

Lich is not really a scarab but it has a weapon that is smillar to a scarab and the insides of the ships is close to the transport scarab from halo2.

The lichs were way to scripted. Scarabs however were fun to kill.
